Unfortunately, I lost 18 engines in one race, all of which I had to pay for.
This happened because i spent 20 tokens to buy 20 EXTRA engines, obviously so that i would have fresh engines every race. To expand, I had 18 engines with a restock in one race...
And just now I found out the hard way that the game does not "ADD" 20 engines to your tally(I should have 38 engines BTW), it just rounds it up to 20 and makes you wait another TWENTY races to get another 20! I bet if I had 25 engines it would have taken AWAY 5 engines
Why not just make it so that it ADDS 20 engines after 20 races?
Or if you OBVIOUSLY BOUGHT engines with TOKENS, why not make it so that it counts as "extra engines". So if i bought 2 engines at one point before the restock, I would get two extra engines after the restock.
At least make it obvious that if you've bought a lot of engines that it essentially does nothing because you lose engines!!!!!
Also can someone tell me why there is even an option to buy 25 engines with 25 tokens if you can only use 20 before a restock!

18 engines man, 18!

if you had of waited 1 race and then bought the 20 you would of had 40 engines :D

Restock only happens if you are below 20, 20+ it just resets the count down to the next restock.

It says it in the Help manual in-game, section 2.3.

Even experienced players should probably give that manual a look over.

So I'm never going to see those engines again, aren't I.
Oh well. My championship was over anyway...

Leo makes a very good point in his first post. For a two car team, if you renew engines on both cars after every race the maximum number of engines you can use between restocks is 40. 20 of these are allocated by the system which means you can only ever use an additional 20, any more than this will be lost.
So why is there an option to purchase 25? Anyone buying 25 will be needlessly wasting tokens.

No, it only ever adds engines to put the stock up to 20. Maybe this restock limit needs a clearer display such as 20/20, like parts storage.

Leo
Why not just make it so that it ADDS 20 engines after 20 races?

Because managers start stockpiling hundreds of engines, particularly in 1-car leagues, where they can't even use 20 engines in a season. Before this stocking method and a storage limit on parts, people had hundreds or thousands of both and couldn't find any use for them. It took away all strategy and management.

Kevin
So why is there an option to purchase 25?

We had hoped to have friendly races done for the app launch, which would create more ways to use parts and engines, but as it isn't there yet I see the point on the 25 engines restock. I'll need to update that list. As I mentoned above though, 1-car leagues can't even use 20 engines in a season, so you could also say having 20 on there is pointless if you're in a 1-car league.

Good point Jack, I hadn't considered friendly races.
As for one car teams wasting tokens if they buy 20 engines... In a one car league you would be wasting tokens buying any engines because at the moment you can't use more than your free allocation.

but with 1 car teams don't u only get 10 engines per reset. or has that changed.

You do, but the point about buying 20 engines still stands. I removed the 25 option anyway, and moved the top two to 15 and 20.
