I'm just wondering if you will be bringing in some sort of incidents or accidents to the game?
I know some might kick off about it.. but say someone has a puncher or something on their car fails, if they are next to someone on the track, i'm wondering about a percentage of risk of actually causing an accident with the other driver(s) around them...
You could bring in the decisions and reactions part of the driver to avoid it... That way you'll bring in yellow flags, red flags and also the safety car....
Even if it's along the lines of someone having a puncher and as the other driver tries to avoid it, they clip the front wing and it needs replacing...
Any more ideas from the others? what do the rest of you think?

To implement yellow flags, safety car and on would probably require extensive programming, but I guess, based on the level of push and driver's abilities, some random driver mistakes could be easily implemented.

There is the issue of reliability too

Battered cars retire though as it is now.

I may be wrong but the possibility of an accident with a poor driver is factored into the game.
It's not too high, as during testing this was happening too often and was putting player off.
Not sure about the 'collateral damage' though as that might be time consuming to impliment atm.
The devs should be able to clarify this.

Accidents are already implemented and they do affect the cars nearby. They have been set to happen with very low probability though mainly because at the moment there is little visual indication that an accident has happened. When they were set at a more realistic frequency it caused lots of confusion about why cars were apparantly randomly slowing down.
We will be updating this so you can see the cars slipping, sliding and crashing in future. Also we are planning to have some per-lap commentary given in the race results so you can see where your car had problems such as accidents.

Thanks Andrew -the development sounds good

Just found this thread after I was about to post my own on this topic. Could there be a way for individual leagues to set the frequency of accidents? Something on the scale of Never-Rare-Realsitic-Hamilton/Massa-Ide? I can see how having accidents every race could be put-offish to some, but I like an element of randomness. Sure, I'll curse it when it happens to me, but it'll be better in the long run than having static races.

This would be fairly easy to do, though since accidents will be overhauled soon I'd like to put this on the backburner. Good idea though and it's noted. Thanks.
