Hi!
I just finished my first race, in Australia GP.
I used for 14laps GP, two SS stints with one stop.

I was thinking that I wasn't going to have problem in 7 laps with SS, but in the last lap both my cars lost a lot of position (tiers was 21%).

So I'm thinking that I should to change a tier a lot before 0%. Is it true?
How should be the percentage not to start to have really bad lap time?

If you haven't noticed, the tire color goes red at 50%. And yes, the tires really start to slow down under 25%. Taking the tires to 0% is driving on them until they puncture.

As a rule of thumb I usually try to get my tires down to 30-40% before changing them.

The most important thing about tires is temperature, if you keep the temp in the middle area (with push-levels and the right tirecompound) you can get pretty good laptimes down to about 35% before losing too much in laptime.

In the middle of hot and cold is the preffered area to keep the tires in. It's the optimal temperature for the tire.

One thing people will notice as time goes on, in Rookie & Pro it is easier to manage the tyres temp than in Elite. The faster the cars & drivers get the more managing there is.

Yes. As a pretty newbie elite racer i still have it pretty easy, but even now I have to monitor every race to keep them @ optimal temp.

That's how it's intended to be. You cannot fine tune the management of the tyres without live management in the majority of instances.
