It would be great if you could have raceday weather forecast showing current and race time prediction, better still would be a breakdown of times with a forecast for that time of day.

Also an idea of water level on track when it is raining in order to determine tyre choice, rather than making a guess as to whether inters or full wets are required.

Thanks

I agree, its been way too long that the game has not had a clear weather forecast. It's basically a lottery at the start and this can really influence races.
Not being able to change what tyres ur on before race start also locks you into a terrible strategy as well.

Go spectate other leagues races prior to your race...

I actually google for it.. E.G. today I race at SPA and I see now is raining but at race time it probably won't, so I'm saving my practice sessions for 30 minutes before the race to have a better knowledge of it.
A problem was yesterday where I wasn't able to understand the track of the "European iGP", since it's not a fixed location.

Yes this is long over due. Honestly I'm sick of googling the weather haha. And, maybe I'm not a die hard F1 fan but most of the tracks I don't know where they are. So, for example to get Hungarian weather I need to google and find out what city the circuit is in, and then google the weather for that city.

Also, since I would presume most folks race daily, or every other day, the 5-day weather forecast (or whatever it is) isn't very useful.

It would be most useful (assuming it only comes in 30 min increments from the weather station) as follows ...
*30 Mins prior to race start: 21 C / 10% precipitation
*Race Start: 20 C / 15% precipitation
* 30 Mins after race start: 19 C / 25% precipitation
* 1 Hr after race start: 16 C / 40% precipitation

So folks racing the same circuit on the same day will have different weather forecasts if they are racing at different times.

Yeah this would be good, or even just a rough estimate of precipitation %, temperature and water on track (low, medium, high) would be enough, just to start the right way and then adapt while the race goes on

I've considered for a long time creating a thread that helps people on how to see the live weather at each race track.

I can do this, no problem, but I stopped caring once I knew the ins and outs of how to deal with weather changes.

If there's enough demand in reply to my post I will do it. Hell, James can do it too. Just have to know how to use Wunderground and finding the closest weather stations.

I mean... it's not that hard to provide a sticky post with a link for every circuit that redirects you to the google weather forecast... Still some effort and knowledge are required.

Yeah.I always want how to know the live weather there so I can be prepared for weather changing.But I prefer going #NoOneCanBreakTheWinkelRock-master of strategy strat

I know its far away but the game uses the real weather is it? If yes which tyre will be required in a cold winter day for example in a hungarian gp at -10 digrees on icey road? :O

If you were going to go down the route of having more accurate weather, by the half hour or whatever, then it would be good to have it team specific. Have a weather forecast department that can be upgraded in the HQ and the higher its level the more accurate the prediction.

If it starts raining 10 min before race, even if you recognize you can not change the tyres. Like in real life, with heavy rain and a lot of water on track, you should not be allowed to start. So basicly this should mean, that in case of rain, the tyre selection is automaticly changed to wet or inter for all drivers.

Sorry you guys. You're just too new at the game. Everything is there that you need. Under the strategy tab you have advanced options. If you don't touch that and it rains in the ten minutes between set up closing and race time then the game will automatically change your tires to inters. If you select full wets it will change to wets.
Learning to predict the weather is one of the more challenging parts of the game and should not be changed in any significant way.
After you have raced a full season (if you write it down) you will be able to get the car setup within two tries. Then if it rains during set up just before the race you can try both inters and wets to see which is faster. Or you can go to your homepage and select spectate, and find a race running the track that you are about to run on. When you see that race you will be able to observe how much water is on the track.

If you are not sure about upcoming rain conditions you can buy an ideal setup with tokens. That setup will automatically change to suit whatever conditions are being seen at the track BEFORE the race. It does not change your setup during the race.

The servers that run the live races are often behind the servers that report to your homepage or setup page. And the servers that run the live races are often behind the weather shown on weather underground. If you see rain on your homepage but not while spectating just wait ten to fifteen minutes. You will then see rain while spectating.
