Is there a point where even if you could run the car and not come close to wearing down your tires that you do to much wear and it is not good performance wise if you run with a lot more fuel?

So like do 1 pit but 6 lap and 24 lap compared to like 2 pits 8 laps, 8 laps, 8 laps?

I thought I read some place where you do not want to do more than 50% of the race laps on a single set of tires because the fuel load would be to great and much.

So just curious what thoughts are.

That's a puzzle we all have.

Hard tyres can last up to 40 laps maybe more if you have Tyre Economy.
Fuel per lap also in shorter race distances is the same as long distances.

Do you really need to 2stop like the Driver & Engineer suggests?
Tyres could do it without stopping. But the fuel load would slow you down

I'm actually surprised that the qualy and race lap records are not dominated by 25% race managers

Here are results of a 50% race https://igpmanager.com/app/d=result&id=2107275&tab=race
I managed to get 2nd & 3rd with car well below power of everyone else, I also managed to get booted out of league for speaking English lmao I didn't read the rules to after I was booted out hehehehehe

They have made good steps from what I seen drivers lose more health in 50% than in 100% races
