In order to give a better chance and variation in strategy it would be a good idea if we could adjust the fuel level for 'test Setup laps as in some cases it's obvious that a 1 stop is easily achievable but without knowing how much slower you will be on a heavier fuel load you don't know if it will be quicker.

Yes, I'd like to be able to do longer training stints as well. Something like 15 laps total would be already an improvement. Then you could do 5 stints with 1 timed lap (plus 5 times in and out) like now or 1 stint with up to 13 timed laps (plus in and out).

You can puzzle most data out of the race writeups but it's tedious and needs detailed lap to lap writeups of data like which laps had DRS and how much KERS or what kind of traffic to be done properly.

Longer training wouldn't hand you the data on a silver plate either, there still are the quite big differences due to driver errors or whatever other causes the game calculates that we see in perfectly same setup laps now and the track getting better by gradually getting cleaned and freshly rubbered could be present too, even more so than in race due to more dirt such early into the event.

maybe the practice should be a set amount of time, not laps. eg you get 15 minutes and when you click to do a lap, it subtracts your lap time from the allotment. You can then choose to do a stint, or just run a series of single hotlaps. It would certainly mix things up for what kind of setup people use! -- might even seperate the men from the boys in an elite league (which i currently just find to be a case of whomever has the better driver and faster car will win, everyone uses a very similar strategy and there are no underdog winners anymore)

A remedy to make races more interesting would be to make it nearly impossible to find the ideal setup, the closer someone is to the ideal setup the better, even a driver with 20 knowledge should find it difficult to get the perfect setup.

Depending on how close the driver is to the perfect setup could be told in his feedback (Good, Very Good, Excellent, Outstanding)

The ride-height is currently Good
Suspension is Very Good
The wing levels are Excellent

It's not telling you higher or lower, it's telling you the setup is usable.

@James Greer are you really just suggesting more variables to work with during setup? rewording the driver feedback would only really upset the experience for as long as it took for people to get used to the new phrases, and it would also decrease realism because IRL a driver will suggest "more" or "less" front wing etc. (a driver will also give feedback on how the car feels through certain key areas such as "turn 8 there is understeer" - but i think any implementation of that would only lead to huge issues of complexity for what is only a casual game for 99% of players)

More variables yes, like the suspension instead of 3 choices have 5 choices (Very Soft, Soft, Neutral, Firm, Very Firm)
Clicking Ideal setup would make everything Excellent. You still have to fine tune it to find Outstanding or Perfect.

As for driver telling you he needs more front wing it cant happen, we only have overall wing settings, not a front & rear wing.
As for the driver tell you understeer or oversteer, that's just the same as saying higher or lower. That's what I would like to do away with.

If the thing is reworked there should be no problem splitting wings into front and rear, or is there? In my book it would be an improvement if we had some more screws to adjust. Something like 4-8 but nothing more I suppose.

Yes, those suggestions would make training and setting up a whole lot more interesting. As it is now there just could be a save button for coming seasons since I always put in the same numbers anyways, maybe slightly adjusted in case of a new driver and as long as it's not raining, and use the laps usually just to compare times with the last seasons.

It's no problem if the changed driver feedback tells in what direction it should be changed in my view, the numbers have to change slightly every season anyway because else it just takes longer to collect the data and the notepaper/spreadsheet needs to be slightly larger. It could be temperatures, design points and/or more or less of randomness (it's supposed to be a different car every time after all).

Your league is quite the exact opposite to the one I'm in then. Better car and driver helps, better qualify means cleaner air and means less hassle with (auto)KERSers but the actual win is most of the time a matter of strategy and DRS/KERS/push managing, and sometimes a bit of luck, during the race. The up- or downside? You have to be online, better every race. Then my strategies are usually quite decent but, oh boy, do I have to work on my in-race managing. Most importantly I really have to learn when it's time to be more aggressive. Turned into something like a rant, didn't it? Sorry about that.
