The bidding system in this game seems to be really wrong. I just wasted 4 tokens on a bid and now I have nothing left to do. I cannot hire any new staff because of this. The way auctions are supposed to work is that only the winning bid is required to pay the money. Whereas in this system, if I lose the auction because the bid becomes too high, I've effectively lost everything. This is incredibly frustrating.

Each bid costs 1 token.
As you say, only the winning bid is required to pay money, but tokens are not money.
This isn't the first time it's happened, nor is it the last.
