weather - "rain number"

I have difficulty understanding the weather. If it rains: How do I know how bad it is? I don't know how to decide between wet and intermediate.

If there would be a number or a symbol for the amount of water actually coming down it would be better to estimate. In my mind I see 2 good options (that dont exclude each other):

- A number of milimeters per hour coming down (excellent for the live weather). This would be an exact number because you can measure it. Also, when you see this number going down you can expect the wether to improve or vice versa.
- For forecast a symbol would be great. The more drops under the cloud the extremer the rain is (expected offcourse). This can be a scale of 3: Light, medium, heavy.

Yet again, this is just a suggestion for future improvements and doesnt need emediate attention at all.

I like that idea of displaying mm/h of rain and it's certainly doable.  The information is already there, it just needs to be presented in a neat way.

It would be easiest to just add a row to the weather window listing the number rather than having a variety of extra icons.  Having said that though, you can already get a rough idea of the rain intensity from the icon.  Compare:

Light rain
Rain
Storm
Thunderstorm

Thanks Andrew, I didn't know the were different icons allready, thanks for showing the icons. These should be enough for me to estimate.
