What is the rule/protocol for posts seeking new managers to your league?

I was just wondering if there are any written/unwritten protocols in place to assist when trying to attract new/experienced managers to your league.

I have noticed an increase in posts to league pages by league hosts/representatives trying to attract players away from that league. I was under the impression that was not permitted, but maybe that was only something I falsely remember from years ago.

League poaching's still seen as not at all ideal and rather rude. It can be somewhat amusing when they try to post in some of the established leagues, then get "Nice empty league" as a reply (was the case in International GP Championship and International F1 League).

Jamie R's reply to a league poacher in British Racing League stands out:
"But then... why would you advertise here... there are not many leagues worth leaving here for, and specially not some month old awful looking place like that one."

Yes. Well. I probably could have chosen my words a little better.

I really do understand the difficulty in attracting teams, but I did find it rather rude. But then my response was probably rather rude too.

LOL, Jamie's reply was on point. The league structure, and search engine could use some tweaks.

No... it wasn't really. Yes it was rude to advertise they way they did.

But its not fair to talk that way about a new league. I found out after it wasn't even the league owner.

New leagues need support.

I've seen one instance of a player advertising in a different league with nasty results.

I wish I could take action but I don't have the ability to do anything like that (yet? hard to explain.)

It's certainly not nice and it certainly isn't ethical. It'd be like Burger King's CEO walking into any McDonald's restaurant to tell them to visit Burger King for a good meal.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did a snap reply when i noticed it, then had buyers remorse, and thought I should check and see if IGP had anything in place to deal with it. It may become more of an issue with the auto-kick cleaning out a lot of the newer leagues.
