So it was the British GP and 45 laps. I ran SS-SS-H-H 7/7/15/16.

Now on the third stint using Hards for 15 laps I fueled up 37ltrs and had 1.6ltrs remaining. Then this is where things went wrong, the fourth stint on Hards for 16 laps I fueled up 38ltrs and on the 15th lap it made me pit for the last lap (lap 16) even though I had 2.5ltrs remaining and was using 2.36ltrs per lap on average.

38ltrs - 2.5ltrs = 36.3ltrs used

36.3ltrs used / 15 laps = 2.366ltrs per lap

So if I had 2.5ltrs remaining when it sent me in to the pit, why did it do this when it clearly shows that I had enough fuel to complete the last lap especially based upon the fact that none of the laps in that last stint went above 2.4ltrs used.

Definitely something wrong here.

Hi Ali,

Where you live managing the race? Where you changing push levels?
Ignoring your calculations for a moment, when you review the fuel column from the result does it say how much was left when you refueled? Its not available on app I dont think :(

It's a frustrating device left over from the old version when you ran out of fuel and stop dead on the spot and ended your race.
Should really be done away with now that we can roll over the finishing line and into the pits when need be.

Last night every race using spot on fuel auto-pit wanted me in lap early and lap before the last lap. Cars finished the race with 0.1 fuel but because of where my pitbox is they run out of fuel while pitting.

Hi Jamie, Yes I was playing live and yes I was changing push levels, however every single lap did not surpass 2.4ltrs and it forced me to pit with 2.5ltrs remaining so it shows that I had use my PL wisely. I play on both App & Laptop, reviewing everything after the race on the laptop to check lap times, fuel used etc. Definitely an error in the game as I would have crossed over the line with between 0.1-0.2ltrs left. How I know this? because not one of my laps consumed more than 2.4ltrs and I was not pushing hard on the 44th lap to make the game auto-pit me.

Definitely frustrating! Now I have to pay far more attention and cancel that auto-pit next time it activates (unless of course I have calculated wrong :) )

Fuel saving tricks sometimes work but not always. Push & heat up the tyre then back off and cool them. Some tracks it uses 0.1 per lap less fuel others it has no change.

I have had that a few times. I just cancelled my pit stop and the car went around and finished with .3 litres. Seems to be the game doesn't like really low margins for fuel sometimes.

I recall I had the same issue last night with one of my drivers. I wouldn't mind doing away with the auto-pit regarding fuel. I will accept the risks.

I always have problems with the game want to auto-pit my drivers.Just cancel the pitstop and then let your driver roll to the finish line

This idea is more of a suggestion, so maybe somebody should post about it there :D

Thing is if they do away with it, will the car not just keep going slowly around the track to you hit the pit button or will he still stop on the lap you selected?

Well it'd obviously be coded/programmed to function the way it should. Best way would likely be to only allow auto-pit to take effect by advanced strategies settings and for attempts to return to the pit lane when fuel runs out. I don't know anything regarding the programming, but if I had to take a guess there might be a check (whatever the term is) to see if the driver can/cannot complete the next lap without running out of fuel, and that check could just be removed.

Next time you are talking to Ricky, pick his brains about it.
It's not really a bad thing if we are online and have to hit the pit button. But if I'm offline I would like my assistant manager to box for me. :)

Can they just program that 'check' to be accurate regarding fuel remaining and fuel needed to complete the lap? :)

I'm just guessing on how it probably works, but I could pitch the suggestion to them if somebody posts it in the suggestion forum :D

Ricky is gone :(

Darren is here, doing a great job with the race viewer :)

We have several more developers, Aleksandr (you can thank him for the awesome livery editor) and Sameel (works with the race simulation if I recall correctly). There is another developer but I am not sure if he even exists...

I had this insisting that you pit error yesterday at Singapore. Both drivers had the same fuel showing but one had the pit indicator flashing so I canceled the pit and the pit indicator stopped flashing. Then as that driver was approaching the finish straight the pit indicator came back on and he pitted before I could respond. Because of my pit posistion I had the new fuel load showing for the last lap but the previous lap showed 3.1 litres and my mileage the previous lap was 2.1 per lap so it pitted me with 1.0 litres. The other car that the game didn't pit showed 1.0 litres left on the last lap.

This must be something related to the push levels sometimes not being registered after you have changed them.

Once the game sends you past pits to begin last lap it should be impossible to pit. You may run out of fuel but you should NEVER pit.
