Asking a stupid question :P

I always click refit for all and remove the engine if need be, even if i dont have a new version of a part for 1/2 of them i always like to have the best % of "hp" to them.

Do you have enough Engineers and Mechanics to change all parts?

Yes, well sort off.

33 Engi, 22 mech
needed to fit all parts bar engine is 34 eng and 20 mech i think. I know i am 1 short but all the way through season 1 and the start of season 2 with this team and all the way through season 1 with my 2nd account i noticed you dont need full engi/mech's to fit all parts. i noticed you can be 2 short and the parts will still fit, now i am 1 person short and should fit it.

I always make sure too by saving it and reloading the page, thats how i found out i can be 2 people short on each staff positions. When the page comes up all parts that will be changed still have the tick, any that do not have the tick removed. This race and the others the internals still had the tick.

Maybe it was corrected by an internal change?
Because it doesn't make sense to be short by 1 and still fit all parts.

Jack can give you more information about that tomorrow.

Sounds like there was a bug if you could fit parts without having the full compliments of mechanics and engineers.
As you say - Jack will have to look into this.

I have to urge caution on building expectation that I can or will respond to problems. Even implying that I will respond to something when I have not committed to do so is the start of a slippery slope. I have many other responsibilities and commitments to take care of and sometimes can't read the forums. So I would ask everyone to not expect a response by default. It's not a criticism of this thread alone, rather a small forming trend I have noticed.

That aside, the problem is fairly clear here. You are trying to fit more parts than you have the staff for. A simple fix is to hire more mechanics/engineers or reduce the number of parts you are attempting to refit until the red bounding box around the numbers disappears.

Yeah i guessed it was a bug but i didn't see any info on it being changed and my 2nd account could still add all parts with 2 engineers missing and 2 mechanics on my last race 2/3 days ago but this account has not been able to add new internals for over a week. I have already added the extra 3 staff on this account for the posistion's.

My 2nd account is in a 2 car league and i find it weird that you need 116/200 staff to replace the car parts, thats most of my staff leaving little for meaningfull upgrade development  and marketers. It's not that bad for me since its 1/week race schedule but for 2+/week race schedule leaves you with very little in upgrades for race's and marketers to help raise money. I doubt you could actually fit 34 Enginners and 24 mechanics around a car or even fit all parts at once anyway :P

If you just replace parts when they are worn[and not the whole car at once] you can EASILY use 34/24 and still have spare staff most days

With a twinkle in the eye and lots of sarcasm:

You need 34 and have 33. You might be a "new age" manager thinking that anything is possible if you only think it is, but in the real world that means you have not enough staff. Its maybe one of our biggest problems these days that managers think what worked yesterday must work tomorrow as well.
Maybe your staff doesn't want to fit your cars any longer, as you let them work extra shifts and overtime just to save the money of 1 extra engineer but building a brandnew car every race for a bazillion of bucks. Next they'll found a workers council or stop completely to fit your car. You might do it on your own than. They might want to find out, if it works with 1 manager refitting anything as well... ;-)

IF there is a bug, than it sits in front of the monitor. You were lucky of fitting parts with less staff (which is completely pointless to do or even try but thats another story). So be lucky instead of expecting your luck to become a rule and than moan about it.

I can't believe you did that 3 races long...

ok so once again his lordship has been putting people down rather than helping. now fiiting parts is easy it will cost ya but not to worry money isnt everything in this game. now best way to do it is wait till you designs are done at midday now there done you can lower your designers and increase eng and mec to wot you need. then when your race is done just move them around again to get the parts on desgin. that help you out.

What? go back to your bridge troll.

I wasn't moaning i was asking to see if someone else noticed this and could help as i stated for this team it stopped adding the part but my other team still worked and nothing was added to bug/changes post. What i didn't add was that i didn't notice till just the start of the 4th race as i have got into the habbit of just refitting all parts as i can update the entire car before a race(mostly, with 2 race's a week 1 is only 3days between a race other is 4 and i lose 2 parts being updated)

lucky? no, just thorough in my staffing posistions to get the most out them(actually, my team as a whole as i have made a nice spreadsheet to work race strategys and setups. I pritty much get "feels good" by the 4th stint now)

@Norrie Rae. Yeah i did that at the start when i was lvl 2-4, thanks.

Any chance a Mod could lock please, quirey answered and no point in a troll keeping it alive.
