Can we add pit crews, so they can be trained. There should still be a chance of a slow stop and an extra quick stop.
Pit Crews can be trained up so they are quicker in the stops.

Thats sound nice!. It would be a good way to improve some pit stop times and strategic point of every race. If manage a team of pit crew, instead maybe add a Leader of Pits Crew, and he affect directy on reliability and pit stops.

Old iGP used to have your TD and mechanics affect pit stop times.

Still, DRS is so powerful in the new iGP (guaranteeing you an overtake in most tracks once your Tech levels are 14-15 or so) that it is easier to recover from a bad pitstop now. Even if you had a way to ensure you have good performance in pit stops, people with DRS will immediately catch back up to your tail if they know how to get within range of you. Still, a 1-2s faster pitstop than the competition helps wonders.

It would offer more options around pitting cars on the same lap etc too!

Could be HQ addition or staff addition. Also fuel load affects the time.

Remembering back to real F1 when they still had fuel stops, and I doubt this would make much difference.

When F1 had refuelling, the tyres would be changed and the car sitting there just waiting for fuel. No matter if the pit crew were a bit quicker, or slower, the car would still be sitting there waiting for fuel anyway. As such the amount of fuel put in at the pit stop, as dictacted by the strategy, determined the pit stop time, not how fast the tyre's were changed.

Remember this is a game, not a simulator.
