Hi.
How do you choose what tire to use? Qhat temperature range is good for SS, S or Hard?
It says inde game that hards are good for "cool dry" what does it means in term of degrees? Below 20?.
Thanks.

Unfortunately the game doesn't state precise temperatures, but it changes with the track as each track has different characteristics. A general rule of thumb is in this game, tracks with longer straights tend to heat up tyres more, while more slow corners cools them down more.
As for temps, generally around 10C is usually the a range where even the softest tyres can run in optimal temps on most tracks, whilst 30C and above would greatly benefit the Hards as the softer compounds would easily overheat.

So around 20C is good to use mormal tires?
Thanks

Ricardo, it's hard for us to tell exactly what kind of tire will be the best option. I just can say that I don't use mediums. :)
Apart from this joke, I can give you some ideas:
Hard tires can be used in cold track, for example China and Turkey or Silverstone as so as SuperSoft can be used in high temperatures (I had used SS in Bahrein).
So, sometimes you need a softer compound for better start position and then harder compound to finish the race.

I usualy used 3 stints starting with SS or S and then 2 stints with S. Last race (AUS) i tryed only one stop, starting with S for 10 laps and the 20 laps with Meds. It worked very well.
I usualy choose the softest tires that can last the laps i want to do in that stint. Does this looks a good stategy?
Thanks

Strategies depend solely on the figures you see when you do the practice. There is no hard and fast rule with regard to what tyres to use at what temperatures and you will find over the coming few months a fair number of race circuits will be 10C temperature (I believe that is the lowest it will go to). Different tyres fit different strategies in different fashions.

...i tryed only one stop [...] It worked very well.
This is exactly what I mean, you have to find YOUR best strategy :)

I know, but people can give some advise too.

Ricardo, it all depends on how you manage your tyres during the race. Tyres will wear quicker when they are fresher and slower when they are older (completed more laps). When you do the practice stints, it will show tyre wear % per lap. This is on fresh new tyres. So doing a straight line calculation won't be accurate. The usage will be less than that (I don't know the tyre wear ratio). Once tyres go beyond 50% usage, your lap time will start to drop. You can compensate with higher push levels but this will make the tyres overheat quicker. So that where your strategy comes into play - the judgements you make depending on the other drivers in the race. The tyres will run slower as they wear and slower as they get hotter. For me it's a matter of keeping the tyres in the right temp range by watching the tyre temp dial and setting my strategy so they tyres will last approx 50%. Of course that's just a rule of thumb and it depends on the track, the temp and what they other drivers are doing. Best thing is for you to experiment and RECORD EVERYTHING. You'll very quickly figure out what works best for you.
