Can anyone explain how the game arrives at a value for a driver or member of staff?
This driver is Talent 19 and seems to be silly money compared to other drivers who from their stats appear to be better.

I assume the drivers who cost a lot of money have been sold and bought many times. The game never decreases or maintains how expensive a driver is bought for from the last time he was bought. Check how many teams the driver has been in so we can see if this is true...

And then their wage is based more on level and skill

The most expensive driver I can see right now is Gerda Vass at over £16m. She has only ever driven for two teams, she is Talent 15 and has only won 7 races in 267 starts. Compared to Lella Lombardi (a driver I am auctioning) Vass has lower talent (Lombardi 20), fewer wins (Lombardi 24) and has driven for fewer teams (Lombardi 4) yet Vass's auction value is over £3m more than Lombardi. Doesn't make sense.

I think it's linked to their level and how many times their contract has been renewed. What level are they both?, ow many races have they both raced and how many teams have they both raced for?

Hi Ali
As I said in my previous post almost everything about Lombardi would make you think she was the more valuable driver but the game is valuing her at £13.5m whereas Vass is valued at £16.3m.
Lombardi Level 20, Talent 20... Vass Level 19 Talent 15
Lombardi 34 wins, 99 podiums, 22 poles, 32 fastest laps, 3102 points
Vass 7 wins, 22 podiums, 16 poles, 4 fastest laps, 1283 points
Lombardi has entered 318 races, Vass 257 (suggesting Lombardi has had more contract renewals)
Lombardi has a much higher win to start ratio
I know which one I'd spend my money on. Going back to the original question.... does anyone know what information the game uses to value drivers? Or is it the same randomness it applies to qualifying which never seems to reflect practice pace.

This is something that confused me since old iGP. I remember when I was on a new test account I did not ever see any consistency in the signing fee. At that level, you only saw the drivers who were absolute garbage, max level 3. I'd see one driver's signing fees $12m, and then another driver of the same level and skills cost $7m to sign.

Definitely your driver represents better value. But like you say, the transfer values seem to not make sense.

I don't know why free drivers are more expensive than contracted drivers.

The auto-sign drivers are level 2, which are cheap to hire. Higher level drivers are more expensive.

is there a reason why younguntrained and unexpirienced drivers are more expensive than full trained level 17 drivers?

Phil
is there a reason why younguntrained and unexpirienced drivers are more expensive than full trained level 17 drivers?

This happens if the young driver is bought from the Transfers page and the level 17 driver is a driver from the Youth Academy. If the level 17 driver is released and bought from the Transfers market he'll be much more expensive.

The reason the level 17 driver is cheaper is because Youth Academy drivers sign for cheap and stay cheap even after contract renewals.
