Hi.

When I first joined iGP my Technical Director at the time would always estimate about 10 extra liters of fuel than necessary to finish a race. As I leveled up I got more experienced and more expensive Technical Directors, and their estimatives of race fuel were getting more precise. But the last two I hired always predict less fuel than necessary and this has really been annoying me.

I'm not sure if it's their fault, or my fuel provider's, or my driver's, or my car's. In some races I put ten extra liters from the original prediction they make and still I find my driver pitting with one or two laps to finish the race because he was going out of fuel.

Any advice on what I should change or do?

Are you sure that the pit because of running out of fuel?
Sounds mor like they are pitting because of worn tires.
Screenshots of the race would help (the ones where you see fuel and tires)

yeah dont listen to them. use wot you did from previous races to work it out you'll get a much better account of wot to go with. it also depends on if your running push hard the whole race. the TD pretty much becomes useless after one season. ir after one race on your first season. i dont use him i do it myself i use him once and he muck me up big style.

To be fair tho if you dont want to put the time in to work out the fuel per lap. then useing them is the best you can do.

Rely on your own experience, it is (normally) much better than any TD's.
And, what Nico wrote, may be a good hint for you: Look at the tyre wear in those certain races. Maybe you worn them out before a planned pit stop. Because ten litres more than predicted in every stint should easily take you to the next stop or the finish line.
Do you use 2D or not. When not, try to put the "orders" for your drivers before the race to hold position rather than full attack.

I'm pretty sure he's pitting for fuel. Here's screens from my last two races.

@Nitro - I don't keep track of fuel consumption from previous races but thanks for the tip, think I'll start doing that. But it annoys me that a Technical Director which I used to pay 1k per race did a better job than the one I pay 200k per race...

I would assume that you have a failure in your calculations because 10L more than needed definetly won't result in a pit stop because of less fuel!

You use 3.5 L per lap so just think of how many laps you wanna do and multiplyit by 3.5. So if you wanna dor 10 laps you have to bring 35 L + an extra Liter or so to makes sure you do not pit a lap to early.

Also, the top picture shows lap times of 1m30s, the times in the bottom picture are 1m20s.

If the track, tyres, and fuel load are the same I have no clue how you get a laptime difference of 10 seconds. I have a level 2 driver with a 20% car and a level 7 driver in a 90% car in the same league and the better car and driver is "only" 3 to 4 seconds per lap faster.

Just do wot you did there look at the how much you had left and think well am at least 3lts short so put that in the next time. or

Take fuel for the stint take off wot ever you had left divde that by how many laps you want to do. that give you the ruff fuel per lap times that by the number of laps you wan to do then add a ltr or 2. shud sort you out. if your a 2d user then you can adjust it down or up a ltr or 2 during the race.

The problem is I pay an employee 200k + per race so I in theory wouldn't have to do it myself. I don't see the point in hiring a more experienced TD if he doesn't do his job right.

The two pictures, as I said, are from my two last races. They are not from the same race, hence the different laptimes.

And no, I'm not a 2D user.

I think this might be some sort of bug.

I think you already gave the answer yourself. Do not hire a person for a lot of money if he doesnt do anything. I think all the good managers in this game do not look at his advise. Maybe more as an indication for fuel load but they definetly do not follow his advise.

Maybe his function will be changed after the Q1 update (i don't know) but till that time I do not think a level 1 TD will do the job much worse.
