Why not?
He finished 1st and 2nd.
And he has less than 5000 reputation therefore he gains more reputation than someone who has over 5000.

Q: Why not?
A: He didn't even drive 1 lap with either car.

Indianapolis 2005. All Michelin Teams decided to drive into the pit at the beginning of the race. Only 3 Teams drove more than one lap. But the first 8 driver got points.
I don't see why he shouldn't get points for that. He was the only one who competet in the race and therefore he got his reputation.

Example: in my race yesterday I got unlucky with one driver, who ran out of fuel from the lead of the race (30 drivers on the grid). My other driver won the race. Result? -6 reputation. Now here's someone who's starting a race with a trashed car on an empty grid and who's not driving a single lap. He gets +20 reputation for that? So far the reputation seems to work perfectly, but in my opinion this is a situation that needs a little attention and - again, in my opinion - should be an exception to the rules.

As for the comparison with Indianapolis 2005: are you really comparing race points with reputation points? Anyway, according to formula1.com, only teams that finished the race were given points.. (6 cars). http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2005/740/

Okay I read that they got the points but it seems that this was a wrong information.
As I explained before. He got so much reputation because he has so less. If he has more reputation he would gain less.
Reputation is based on race results (positions). I guess you got -6 reputation because you're driver finished somewhere at the end.
It's a glitch to get reputation when you're having very less but if you have already much reputation then you gain nothing for that. So I would assume that it is not very important but that has to be decided by Jack.

That's my point. Maybe there is a bit too much emphasis on race positions.
