Just an idea as developing the car is pretty much the same strategy every season.
Would you guys think that in a two car league it would be more diverse to independently develop our two cars?
This kind of happens in real life with one driver having first choice on upgrades. Also this could allow lower lvl managers to at least have one driver mixing it at the sharp end. I just think this could open up quite a fun dynamic to strategy. Obviously the amount of development points will have to be increased for two car leagues due to twice the amount of development...

Thoughts everyone?

Its not the number of cars that makes a league interesting, its manager levels.

Many 20 managers drop into other leagues and dominate, i just left a league which had 6 or 7 guys who could win a race as we were same level or 1 apart, then 10 guys joined from another league, all level 20 and those guys finished 1 to 10 every race.

The gap in development points is too high, these guys had much better everything you can build or develop and they have better drivers.

The leagues need to be managed better, if you stick to leagues same level as you the racing is closer and car development can play a part.

Could there not be something in the admin panel of your league that allows you to set manager level so no one abovd that can join

Yes but as you know, it is very much dependent on manager lvl as to the outcome of most of the races if their facilities are fully upgraded. Which is why having different development of the two cars adding a new dynamic to the racing. Everyone follows the exact same development pattern over the course of the season so this way would at least create a bit of strategic variety.

What you are complaining about is completely missing the point of the thread and is born out of frustration. Racing higher lvl managers helps your team develop much quicker and benefits you.

Yes 10 managers came over to your league but they were all lvl17 with 1 lvl19, so stop the exaggeration, also most of your problems were the fact you couldn't count how much fuel you needed and always ran out... Then blamed some mysterious fuel glitch then rage quit blaming everything else but yourself.

Well this could escalate quickly. I suggest everyone think carefully before going any further off topic.

As for OP, I have to ask what this truely accompishes besides adding layers of coding.

When you focus on 1 car making the other a slow backmarker hindering the top cars, including your #1 car, it will only turn into a mess. In top leagues you need to get both cars in the points to be competitive

Hi Greg,

I get your point, as yes one car would be slower but not to the point it would likely be a backmarker, especially in high level leagues where each team is so even. Both cars would benefit from research still, but the manager can have slightly more freedom when it comes to applying development points.

In a league where the teams are all very evenly matched the backmarker issue would not happen and would lead to an interesting development race. For example having a slightly better car1 getting say 6th and car2 finishing just outside the points is more beneficial in terms of total points than having both cars coming 9th & 10th...its just an idea

This would be a significant implementation and would take a lot of time/resources from the developer. I'd rather see them focus on improving current features, or polish the game, fix balancing problems, than add a whole new aspect that may or may not improve player experience.
