There isn't one best strategy. There are a few options because strategy is race distance and temperature dependant. It can also be influenced by the strategies adopted by other teams in the league and the number of active players.
Also, asking for general advice on the game is okay but optimum strategies are something you should be aiming to develop yourself as you gain experience.
