It's just in the game Steven, I know it feels pretty bad when something happens like this.
It's now like this because we can't jugde all the league changes, and this is a way to stop league hoppers, I know we hurt people like you too with it, but there isn't a better idea at the moment.
At the same moment if you do good research you can get competive in the later stages of the season. In my league somebody who joined in Australia went to take the chequered flag in Valencia and even had a chance of the title in Adu Dhabi, where he bottled it and ended up 80 points behind me in the championship.
Your second season you'll get a glitch if you survive which makes your car 50 on everything, so it's worth the challenge isn't it?

On my opinion there is a better way. Anyone who leaves their current league after the Abu Dhabi race finishes and joins a new league during the break between seasons starts the season in the new league with their full allocation of DP.
Any move that is timed differently than this then apply a DP penalty to deter league hoppers.
Also get rid of second season design boost. It causes a lot of bad feeling when it happens.
Also when a team relegates/promotes they should start the following season with the DP they would have had if they had competed in that tier for the entire previous season. This last measure will help to prevent the promote/relegate/promote cycle.

Yes I agree with the above, I left previous league after Abu Dhabi and joined before the start of the new leagues season, so basically having my CD employed all of last season was pointless because I've had no points carry over, so I've wasted his salary for a whole season. Makes more sense to keep the original design points rather than have a second season 'glitch'...

It's a good idea, but this will maybe be hard to implement.

Yeah, this was a thread for Yunus anyway, cause I've seen him reinstate people to normal car design so was hoping he could do the same

Hi Ben, I'm sorry to hear that. This is a separate issue from what was posted here. I've noted this problem for our developers to look into.
