Hi there, I have come to notice that designing my next season's car is tremendously slow.

My performances this season are 40% to 60%

with 12 out of my 82 Designers on a car piece, it takes 6 Days to complete an update

This would leave me about 38% for next season if I entirely focus on next season's car (if I trained nothing but Designers for this season)

My season's calendar is daily with 1 day break between seasons.
The issue here is when this season's car is so high, preparing next season's car takes very long. Unless I am missing something? My first next season updates will be coming tomorrow at 1pm so I do not know the exact value of my performance increase but if the performance of this season's car is really high, would that increase the gain per research for next seasons?

The higher the car in this season the slower the increase on next seasons car.
What can you do to gain more increase? Train your design stuff
What can you do to get updates faster? More designers on one part will decrease the time you need to develop one part
What else can you do? If you're at level 8 or higher you can build the test rig and the wind tunnel which decreases the time you need to develop a part.
Every update takes at least 2 days.

Hopefully that will let you give some hints. I can't tell you how to play the game but maybe that helps you to figure out what you're doing wrong

Yeah all the above information you just gave me helped 0/5. I'm well aware of what's written on the website under these 'Guides' but I am asking from player's experience. At this point I am facing this situation

One Good Season, Next a Bad season, Next a Good Season, Next a bad Season.

How is that?

Lets say you got 70-90% on all your pieces for your next season.

You begin developing again for next season, this technology is taking alot longer to develop cause of the length of time required as the game thinks it is still trying to upgrade from the 70-90% that you gained. Thus the ammount gained is even slower

You earn about 30-40% for next season, resulting in a half the performance you had last season

You begin a new season again at the 30-40% margen you obtained from last season's development

Your designing this year is a little faster cause of the 'This Season' is lower and takes shorter to learn.
Simple:

Season One you start with 10% on all performance

You gain performance boosts quickly in the first season

You end that season with stats at 60-90%

You begin that season with This Season "60-90%" and Next season "1%"

Time to develop new pieces even with your emphasis to 'Next Season' is incredibally long as your Design table looks like this: This Season 76%, Next Season: 1%

So you gain less % onto next season over time cause when designing new parts, it takes into account of 'This Seasons Performance Level' thus slowing it down

You come to the end of the season with a far inferior car than before.
What I was trying to say the car design will look like this for 'Next Season' Development:
Season 1 -  starts at 1% and ends at 80%
Season 2 - Starts at 1% and ends at 30%
Season 3 - Starts at 1% and ends at 50%
Season 4 - Starts at 1% and ends at 40%

and so on.

The Current Season's higher performance levels ruin the next Season's development by alot!

My Question originally was:

If my current season's performance is really high, slowing down the time I research for next season, does that research for next season everytime when completed get a larger boost cause of the time it takes to develop it?  IE

If my Front Wing is currently:
This Season - 70%
Next Season - 5%

and it takes 24 Designers to improve in 2 days, would it then read:
(Statement A)
This Season - 71%
Next Season - 12%

or

(Statement B)
This Season - 71%
Next Season - 30 to 40%

Cause if Statement B is true, then this greatly defavours Everyday leagues as the lack of days to develop the car as 'This Season' Greatly slows down 'Next Season' Resulting in a very low Boost.

Solution: Have two accounts that run opposite seasons, lol.

I'll write a massive reply to everything later on when i'm back.... but to this point, design is scaled if you dont race everyday, it takes much more designers on each part to get an upgrade in 2 days [and you cant hire enough to do all 7 parts every 2 days, infact you'll prob dont have enough to do even 1 part]

Interesting, i was considering joining an everyday race league & i was wondering that cause im in a 6 week a season league and development is so slow that if i joined an everyday race league it would be impossible  to do hardly any development cause the season only last 17 days so it was putting me off, so if i understand the above statment from David is that development is quicker with bigger boosts in % in a everyday race championship than it is in a 6 week championship to make up for the shorter time?

Yeah all the above information you just gave me helped 0/5. I'm well aware of what's written on the website under these 'Guides' but I am asking from player's experience.

This is gonna take a while

To be honest though the whole crux of your point is that you are low level and therefore assume that development time will take the time it does just now, which is not true [as you get higher level & better trained designers % will increase, and when you get facilitys at level 8 the amount of designers will decrease]

e.g. this season i started with approx 35% car & by the last race this season i had 100% this season and my lowest part for next season is 62%

to your 2nd post, no you gain exactly the same % , although the size of the season break will affect this as well [i.e. i have a 1 day break in my league so i can get 1 upgrade before the season even starts... if you have e.g. a 3 day break you will get 2 updates before the 1st race]

At present racing everyday with 60 designers i can get new parts every 2 days [4 on 1 day and 3 on the next, even when at 100%]
Pretty sure someone who doesnt race everyday will post there details below, but since upgrades are scaled based on how often you race you are at no way disadvantaged by racing everyday [infact you have the clear advantage of levelling quicker/training drivers/staff more often

Also your % dont work out for what you posted But statement A is corrent [you gain the same % regardless of whether it takes you 2days or 2weeks per part + you can choose whether to develop this/next season and there is also cloning parts to incease "this seasons" car

Last season for me: Started at ~35% ended up with 100% this season and say roughly 60% for the start of the season [i'm not gonna post my actual car % as it gives every1 in my league an advantage

This season: Starting with 60% depending on how i choose to develop i'll could end season with 90% or i could end up with 30% that choice is entirely mine [depending on how i choose to develop this seasons car i.e. do i want to head for 100% as soon as possible, or just compete with the same % car i started the year with]

Obviously it makes more sense to me to develop a car to start/end the season at similar %'s which is entirely possible [meaning i'm constantly competitive, won 2seasons ago, came 2nd last season, and "should" easily make top 2 again this season if not win [This is in the top overall reputation league in the game]

If e.g. i started last season with a 90% car, i still would have came 2nd [possibly 1st] but this season coming with my 25% car i would struggle for any kind of result [where as i will be up there competing for podiums, while still developing a good enough car to compete the season after]

.....

Obviously my %'s / number of designers will vary as i am a higher level If you only race once a week, your % increase will stay the same although u will need "roughly" 7x less staff per part [cant give you an exact number as it depends on lots of variables] At what rate do you develop parts currently? or for comparison keep putting designers onto 1 part until the date comes down to [2days since the last update]

I need 38-46 designers to get 1 part done in 2 days and get 3% increase (This is on next years car that started at 1% 6 days ago), i no the % jump is smaller this year cause i developed good car for this year( 60-70% which i spent all last year developing) and over the cause of a 3 race a wk league with a 7 day break in between seasons which is basically just over 6 weeks (which im currently in) then this ok, i just wondered if you get quicker design (Need alot less designers) in a race everyday championship which last like 17 days with a 1 day gap, or what im experiencing now will be identicle in a shorter championship cause i was planning on leaving in next day or so to join everyday race championsip.

designer is level 5, and designers skill is 6

in a 46 day championship at that rate u can still design good car each year, but in 17 day championship it will be slow going.

Going from racing 3 times a week to 7 times, you'll be roughly half as many designers needed per part/day
