How does a Level 8 manager buy a level 17 driver

Explain to me how it is possible that a level 8 player bought my pilot I sold by mistake and is a level 17! I may be wrong here but one of the more season managers can confirm this or not. But the driver is from the old form of the game where I believe the levels worked different or something. So short answer is that the drivers from the old game can be just about brought by anyone I believe. Just like he was above your level as well. Your only level 15 but yet you had a level 17 driver.

Don't know about the rest of it but you can have as many drivers as you can afford to pay for 

no, I took it of liv 12, and I developed it up to liv 17 !!! three points at a time for about six months
