I see there have been a few topics on this subject, be it about DRS, KERS or whatever. However, I'm a bit confused as to what the status/plan is for back markers. The things is, they just don't behave properly at all.
My league's last race was Monaco which is obviously hard to pass on, but we had leaders literally stuck for lap after lap behind the same back markers. There seems to be no effort whatsoever to let the leaders through.
Often they don't cause much problem as if they are being lapped they are obviously a fair bit slower and so are relatively easy to get past, but not always. Monaco is a bit of a freak circuit in this respect, but something needs to be done to make back markers let cars past. In reality you get 3 blue flags and then you're penalised. 3+ laps holding up the same car is crazy!
What currently is the supposed behaviour of cars being lapped; do they actually have any response or just drive on as usual (it seems this way!)? Is this something that is being worked on?
Cheers,
Simon

We already worked on this problem but it isn't on the live system for testing purposes.

You're right, this is not implemented properly currently. They will defend a little, with about 30% of their usual effort. There is no point where they will intentionally let cars that are about to lap them passed. As Nico says, this will be corrected in future.

Speaking of backmarkers, is there going to be any change to the positioning of the pit boxes, Andrew? In our race today, almost everyone was on the same 5 stop strategy @ Silverstone, so almost everyone pit on the same lap (lap 10). The guy who was sitting in 4th came out of the pits in 18th place - My guess is he lost mega time with the back markers coming into the pits because his pit stop apparently reads normal (4.9 seconds or whatever). He lost over 12 seconds relative to my guy in first place. His pit box is right at the start because he came second last season. I know that's how the pit boxes sit in real F1 but this seems a little unrealistic.
He's not worried about it because his team isn't in the points this season, but it must still be frustrating and probably needs to be altered. I mean basically, unless you've got a mega lead where traffic isn't going to affect your stop, you're going to get shafted if you're in that first pit box if everyone pits at the same time.
