Nobody in our league can join the race, can anybody explain why? It just sits on negotiating no matter how many times we restart our browser.

No, literally 18 out of 21 people suffered the problem.

That sounds terrible, would you like the race re-run? I have an idea what this might be related to, but can't see anything in the system indicating why this occurred.
EDIT: Actually, now it looks like maybe the simulator your race ran on is having issues. I'll take it out of the service. I can see another race is having issues (the only one running on it). This looks like a very isolated incident which only hit a couple of races, and yours was one of them.
