when you pit and refuel. Are you refueling from 0 or from whats left in the tank?
I looked but couldnt find this info.. While Im here, where can I find pit lane distance per track.

thnx

As far as setting the fuel for each stint, you're refuelling from 0. Fuel doesn't carry over between stints, it'll set it to whatever you typed in. Putting in 7L or 50L takes the same amount of time in the pit lane.

Don't think there is any pit lane distance info, why would you need it?

It's a bit academic, but that's not quite true.  Any fuel left in the tank isn't drained. So for example, if you arrive at the pit with 20L still in the tank, but you have specified 5L, the car will still leave the garage with 20L.  But you're right in general:  The fuel gets *topped up* to whatever you have specified, it's not "added".

Also, the amount of fuel you are filling does make a difference to your time at the garage.

I had a look for specific fuel data as well in the guides and couldn't find any.
It might be there I just couldn't find it.

If it isn't there then a sentence or two explaining the above might be useful.

Regarding fueling -

I have only recently started playing this (excellent!) game and am on a pretty steep learning curve :)

Last race I cut my fuel too fine (own mistake, no complaints) so my driver came in for an unscheduled late pit stop 2 laps from the end. 6 litres would have got him to the end of the race but my pit crew put in 32 litres as that was what the first stop strategy was.

Is there any way around this happening other than not getting my maths wrong in the frst place?

Unfortunately not, you'll just have to concentrate on your maths :P. I always tend to put a little extra in just in case, because I'd rather finish with an extra litre or so, rather than be very slightly faster, which is such a miniscule amount, I probably wouldn't notice lol.

Many thanks for the quick answer, much appreciated :)

I had built in an edge on the fuel but then changed strategy in race and pushed for several laps which obviously burnt more fuel, by the time I noticed that I was going to come up short it was too late.

Like I said, steep learning curve :D

Yeah, it will be for the first few seasons, especially when you're on the go, and you need to calculate the amount of fuel needed on the lap that you're pitting :P. I remember having a couple of races where I was in contention for the win, and ran out of fuel. I think it was in the space of 5 races, and had 3 retirements, which was disastrous. Ever since then, I've been a lot more accurate ;)

I have a fun idea but the current fueling system makes it nearly impossible and requires 2D if to be pulled off properly. A No-Refueling league, using lap count to pit and switch tires, however refueling is the only way to control Pitstops atm without live controls.

I think that this has been suggested before, and although it's a nice idea, I don't think it would work in iGP. Re-fueling at the moment is what the strategies are all about. If we had no re-fueling, then we'd just have tyres as a factor, which would mean that everyone would be doing the same strategy, and would be extremely processional.

The only way to have no-refueling is to have tyres similar to the current Pirellis, but then that would mean having to change the suppliers, and then it would only be a matter of time before people worked out just how long the tyres lasted, and what the optimum strategy is. Unless of course, there is a system in which temperature has a huge effect on tyre performance and degradation, like the current F1 season.

Season 2 - Abu Dhabi :P. My guys were running 1-2, and Davies was looking to take the win in his first race for my team, but both drivers didn't end up pitting the lap that I thought they were, and subsequently ran out of fuel.

Eh... season 2 doesn't count, too far away. :) I challenge you to run out of fuel now ! See if you have the guts. :D

Not true, as certain push levels can increase or reduce tire wear, which can easily add/chop a lap from the tires. Some people do not know how to properly manage their tires from race setup, if anything alot of the time, the tire life can vary, especially due to the weather.

This is for free.
Australia Tires
100% to 60% Option has a 7% degradation per lap.
60-40% options has a 5% degradation per lap.
40-20% options has a 4% degradation per lap.
20-0% options has a 4% degradation per lap.

I wouldn't go below the 20% as it's very low grip, but the Option Tire would last 12 laps in Australia.
