Hi
Does the 5kg lowest weight of a female driver turn into a speed advantage against a male driver if BOTH have identical ratings. Or is it there because when like for like male/female drivers go head to head male drivers are seen to have an advantage and therefore the lower weight is there to compensate for that.
I can't seem to find an explanation for the difference in lowest weight. I sincerely hope it's NOT a sexist decision based on any bias the game developers have regarding the perceived inferiority of female racing drivers lol.
I look forward to hearing back from anyone who can help. ST

Shaun, I have a driver that weights 90 kg, and his pace is the same as any other drivers in my test League.

tbf the best female racing driver is not as good as the best male racing driver. It's not really an opinion but a biological thing, even if a female trained hard from day one to try and get quicker and quicker, they just wouldn't be as good as a male if they did the same thing. There are numerous scientific papers from much more educated scientists who will probably say the same thing if you don't believe me...

But regardless of this fact, the fact that females are allowed to be lighter than males in iGP is something that doesn't make much sense to me, considering the fact that this is a game were real world facts can easily be ignored! I agree that this "feature" shouldn't be in the game and also suggest that females have a higher chance of appearing in the Youth Academay

Whilst I appreciate you've taken the time to read and post a reply … neither answer addresses the question. So hopefully someone else out there will have the answer. My REAL WORLD comment was a secondary 'fun' comment .. the IGP Manager Male v Female question was the one I seek an answer too .. Thanks

It doesn't matter, I have had male and female drivers and they were equally fast.
If you want to see race results, here you go: https://igpmanager.com/app/d=result&id=19453600&tab=race

Hi Shaun. From a rather limited sample size, I'd say female drivers, on average, have an advantage of -0.050s/lap to -0.150s/lap in qualifying.

In races, in my opinion from what I've seen, there is no difference, positive or negative.

Problem though is female drivers are very rare (I get maybe 1 for every 30 male drivers in Youth Academy)

Also some long term players (2yrs+) have all female drivers...maybe they know a lot more than I do!

TBH, in the team GoDaddy ECR, Danica is a little bit faster than Romain.

Qualy: GRO is usually faster than DPA
Race: max dif. per lap, without KERS is 0.075secs per lap.

PD) In my Young Drivers Academy, the proportion (in every 10 drivers) 9 males and 1 female.

thnx Peter and Gerard for your input. Obviously youre both talking about your experience rather than FACT. Ijust find it frustrating that I can't find a FACTUAL answer to this question. There must be a reason why the developers of the game decided the lowest female weight should be 5kg less and what difference if any it makes. After all if you take a female/male drivers weight down to 51kg from 56kg you will get a direct mathematical increase in their speed. So does that improvement stop at 51kg for women or do you continue to obtain some speed benefit reducing it down further to 46kg.
I do appreciate everyone input but just want a definitive answer

The only people who can give you a definitive answer are the guys that code the game and I think it's unlikely that they're going to begin giving out detailed information about the game mechanics.
Personally, I've had very good drivers of both genders winning team and driver championships in The MJL league. I don't think there is a quantifiable difference in speed but I still think there are some hidden attributes that makes one talent 20 driver better than another. Just observation and personal opinion.

From my experience (taken from about ~1000 races over 12 accounts), there's no definitive difference between male and female drivers. I've had driver pairings where the male one has a slight edge, and I've also had driver pairings where the female one has a slight edge (such as the one I've got one this account of mine right now). Like Kevin, I think there might be some kind of hidden variable for each individual driver. But I think if you take the average, male and female drivers are equally fast.

Yeahh!!

See my pilot called verstappen with talent 20 and 7 attributes level less than my other pilot da costa with talent 19.
Verstappen is a little faster and I the general championship 30-40 points less than verstappen

From a previous post of mine but with adjusted with new data.

For driver weight.
First of all we have have the car so lets say we have the same car for 2 drivers.
A driver has a value of speed for the car so lets say driver level 1 is 1 second slower per lap than a driver level 20.
in theory Weight of a driver have a value of speed for a driver also lets say 10% of speed.
10% of 1 seconds is 0.100 seconds also lets say that we have 100kg (maximum) and 51kg (perfect for male driver)
so 100-51 = 49 kg so its around 0.002 seconds per lap more every extra kg of a driver.
All those numbers are in theory and if Weight counts and if value is 10% if is less ... ;).

Objection! Speculation!

None of this is helpfull. I only see people guessing. Even the guy with calculations admits everything he said is 'theory'.
I think the only way to find out is by having 2 max out level 20 drivers. 1 male n 1 female. Then do 5 laps in training on ss with both during the same type of weather (temperature) , n see the difference.

Ill make detailed report when im lvl 20 with 2 different genders n actual training results. Because race results are bias to drs n kers n people driving in front of u n slowing u down.
Unless a max level manager with max drivers from both genders wants to help out.
Untill then i think ur on ur own on this, because your level is higher than mine. So u can find out before me...
Lol. I wont be helpfull for years.

Don't forget that in theory there is a Driver error mechanism with unknown step.
For example A full 20 Driver (less error possible) doing  laps +- 0.3 sec in my XP.
So is very hard to calculate needs an average and again "Deep Blue Sea" ;)

Thanks Bo and Sam for your inputs. Whilst I understand ur calculations Sam and can do the maths your answer doesn't address the question which is for two INDENTICAL drivers both with max stats does the 5kg lighter female driver on her lowest weight of 46kg have a 5kg (obviously converted to speed) advantage over the male driver on his 5kg higher minimum weight of 51kg.

I think Bo is correct and the only way to know is to have two identical drivers both maxed out one male one female and test it … Not in race conditions BUT in practice over a big sample of runs.

I do find it interesting that nearly every other area of this game has a mathematical explanation but no one knows if the 5kg weight allowance for female drivers is a true 5kg advantage or simple there for affect reinforcing some male stereotypical assumption that female are lesser drivers therefore requiring a 5kg allowance to equal things up. I thought that was the bastion of France Galop !!!! lol

I've had two drivers maxed out at 20 across all attributes (one of each gender) and I can inform you that in practice conditions on the same tyre compound there was no conclusive evidence that one was faster than the other. Sometimes the male is faster, sometimes the female. As I said earlier, the ONLY people who can give you a definitive answer are the people who coded the game, anything anyone else says is speculation. There are other variables... does height matter? Tall 46kg female v short 51kg male?

I doubt many mods are going to get their fingers into this, considering the fact that this is a question only devs could answer. I doubt the devs would be focusing on this, because they are busy on fixing tyre deltas.

I agree with everything Kevin has said on other variables being too big of an influence on any kind of testing that could go towards finding the answer. But considering the fact that most people don't even notice or care about this difference I doubt it's something anyone should care about because, knowing some of the highest leveled and most experienced managers out there (cough Kevin cough), if it was faster they'd already know...

I already know this won't stop you from posting to find some sort of answer though :D
