I know this discussion has gone on before and in various different places but i just want to throw in my 2cents woth.

In the league I am in I have gone from about £15mill 10 days ago to minus figures.  This is due to me being the only manager left in the tier, as the others have left.  I now get no prize money, through no fault of my own, and can't really afford to move leagues.  I have renegotiated my sponsors and suppliers, sold all i can to make more money, put most of my staff on to commercial but still can't make enough to survive.

It is very disheartening as I know I will have to lose my really good and well trained drivers and staff and start all over again.
I am finding this aspect of the game really difficult but assume it is all part of the design.

I want to add my voice (very loudly) to the argument that there has to be some way of filling up the tiers and not allowing hundreds of  half empty leagues to exist.  Or at least to not penalise managers who stick with the season from the start.

My partner has given me her team to work on for 3 weeks while she's away. I've placed it into a private league on it's own to keep leveling. Now I don't know what you are doing wrong cause her race objectives payout is 100k, and in the past week, she has gone from 45mil to 68mil.

My suggestions to fix your issue:

Replace Components when they are red.

Add more personel to the Commercial Team. I've had 103 in there before and earned 3mil per race. Suggest moving troops from your mechanics and engineers department. I have 103 in commercial atm, I'll give you the income on that tonight.

Your drivers wages maybe the problem. I rotate drivers every season if a driver with higher stats comes available and if I am not in a position to win the Drivers Championship. Racing with the same driver for 10 seasons will ammount to an estimated 120Mil in total
Hope this helps :)

As much as David's suggestions are helpful, I don't see why moving leagues isn't your primary choice. If you're racing alone, then there is no competitive aspect, and surely it would be best to move leagues to one that is more full up and then not only gain more money during the process, because of the bigger prizes, but it would probably be more fun :P

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeh - in February I had 72 mil - lol!!

I am actually playing the game pretty superficially so I can to see how that would affect players with poor skills - and it worked!

Positive advice and help in the forum is a real necessity in this game and players like you are a real asset so thanks again.

But it doesn't change the fact that if I wasn't commited to the game I would probably just give up now.  I really do think the tier system needs looked at.
If the tiers were automatically filled up somehow, then this would never happen and I would only have to worry about my rotten managerial skills instead!

I have about 130 sales people atm and will get rid of my drivers as you say. I have stopped upgrading my components and will look for another league.

As I now don't have enough money to hire new drivers I thought I might just start again from Rookie.
I want to do this anyway to test out how it works.

What I wanted to know was do I lose all my reputation etc - I know someone asked this already somewhere else but I can't find it.  And if it is documented somewhere in the rules or guide pages I would be grateful for the link as I can't find that either!

I believe you do keep your level, but I'm going to take a guess at reputation being reset, but don't take my word for it. Anyway, our league will probably have some spots open in just under two weeks time (or less if someone randomly leaves). Funnily enough, we only have one available spot, which is in elite. But keep an eye out for Speed Series, it's a great league ;)

I do agree about the tiers though. I've been in the same league since the beta, so I haven't really had this problem, but perhaps there should be a 'random pick' button, which allocates you to a league that already has a lot of players? This will allow those who want to just race with their friends the opportunity to do so, and then also make it easier for people to find bigger leagues.

Thanks again - I will have to do something drastic in the next few days but will look out for fuller leagues in future.

I like the idea of a random pick button - no idea how easy that would be to impliment - but might help address the issue, as lot of us don't have the time to trawl through pages and pages of leagues.
