Every 1kg of driver weight extra or less should affect car performance in the same way that fuel does.
I completely disagree. Car+driver is normally below the minimum allowed weight, so teams add ballast to the car to bring it to the minimum weight. If the driver has a lower weight, more ballast can be placed where the team wants and
potentially create a better balanced and slightly faster car. But 1kg extra on a driver has absolutely not the same effect as 1kg of extra fuel.
I dont understand why u guys treat these topics as if we are in formula 1. In igp manager (which is the game we're playing) there is no added weight unless u are too high level for the division u are. No car + driver is 'light' or under minimumweight here and cars are not being balanced. So physics should see 1 kg extra bodyweight the same as 1 kg extra fuel (Imo). Even tho the physics of fluids n bodyweight are not completely the same and the person is not exactly in the same place as the fueltank, but then again. This is not formula 1. So all speculation above can be dismissed, all we want to know is does the code account for driver weight or is it just a cosmetic feature?
Its such a simple question. The only one with a straight (dont know of its correct or not) answer ive seen so far was gustavo's. And there have been a lot of topics on the subject where admins beat around the bush or, like here, bring up all sorts of aspects from formula1 that have nothing to do with the game or the question...
So. Does driver weight affect the racespeed n laptimes?
I guess ill just have to find n stalk some people with heavy n light drivers n see how they do. Even tho everyone trains all drivers to a minimum weight level cus it should b common sense.
So far ive noticed my girl (whos lighter) is always faster in training and qualify if setup the same way. Every single time. So common sense again says yes. It does matter. In race it can be affected by a lot of different factors which might not give a clear picture.
