I have a friend who I started at the same day, a season passed and we both should be equal, right?
But I have a very clear advantage over every other car in the league, I'm at least 1 or 2 points in front in terms of car statistics especially in the "big 4" (DF, Acc, Han, Bra). The races become kind of "easy", but why can I be so good compared to others in almost EVERY aspect? And iirc my friend has got better drivers as well.

The tools available should be about equal, yes, but what you make of it can differ quite a bit. You maybe have put more effort into getting a better CD during last season or into building your Design HQ than the others. Some may have not spent all design points available to them as well.
But don't worry, this is just the start. There are bigger challenges ahead.
