I think the game needs a little more support, especially for those high end players. I am not for Play to Win, but this would merely be an extra feature for those who want to take part. -opens word- brb...

Young Driver Program
In this feature you are able to purchase a pack of 7 new drivers of the ages of 16. The drivers that are found in this pack are equal to your teams Scouting level. Each driver will have these features:

2 of the Drivers will be from the manager's Nationality.

2 of the Drivers will be from the manager's Continent

3 of the Drivers will be from a foreign Continent.

The attributes will be randomly chosen and there is no sign on fee for when they are brought into the driver development program. Their wages will not be activated until they are signed to your team as a driver, which comes at the age of 18 if you choose to sign them.
Pick and choose
Out of the seven drivers you obtain, you can select 2 to bring into your Young Driver's Program and race for your Junior Team. The other five are placed on the Young Drivers Board, where non-purchasers can sign the drivers. Subscribers have 2 Young Driver Slots, and Non-Subscribers have 1 Young Driver Slots. The Young Drivers Board cannot only be accessed during the Grace Period between leagues.

Develop and Race
Prior to each race, there will be a 10% race length GP between your main team's Qualifying and Race. This result will be done instantly. Each race depending will training points for the young drivers. There are no race costs in this, as it's fully supported by your investors

.The Young Driver Facility
The young driver facility is called 'Proving Grounds' where the Young Driver may practice between races. The facility is ran by the Team Trainer who helps develop each driver. A running cost per race per driver is required from 100,000 to 500,000. The cost effects the driver's accumilating training points. At 500k, the driver obtains 100% of the training points rewarded to him, at 100k, the driver obtains 80%

Spending Training Points
You spend training points to increase the driver's attributes, this does not include Morale, Experience or Talent.
The Talent Attribute: To increase this Attribute, it is won by winning races. Every race podium offers 1 Talent Attribute to add to the driver, 4th to 10th place gives 0.7 Talent, and 11th to 17th give 0.4 Talent, 17th to 36th awards 0.2 Talent. These races require atleast 16 drivers participating.

Each level 2 Attribute would cost 5 Training points, a Level 3 would require 11, Level 4 would require 20 and level 20 would require 17427.

The rate you obtain Training points from races, depending on your Trainer's level and how much funds you place into your Proving Grounds. At level 1, you would obtain 350 Training Points per Race Day, Level 2 would give you 368.4, Level 3 will give 388.9 and level 20 would give 7000 per race.

* Please note that all values are for sample use to give a general idea of the system's scaling rate.

I don't understand the numbers at the end, but overall I think it's a good, in-depth suggestion. This game definitely needs a young-driver program somewhere, and this is most certainly a great start for it at the very least!

One question: - These races that are held for the young driver (Presumably series that are similar to GP2, and GP3 etc), are they just random, and based on the young driver's attributes, or are they races that we have to apply strategy to? Additionally, will these races be held against other young drivers, that might be 'signed' to other teams?

On a side note, this can be taken alongside the current idea, what if subscribers (instead of the limited spaces idea, although again, I don't mind if it's not :P) can go back a little further. Say they can take drivers on as early as 14-15, in order to watch them grow further and jump from series to series (Formula Ford, GP3, GP2 etc). Obviously the series won't be identical to those that run in reality.

It's a nice opportunity to spend some extra cash funding new talent :) - I definitely give it the thumbs up :D

EDIT: One more question lol - Does the amount we fund the driver then have an effect on how well they do in the feeder series? (Connected with their talent and skills of course)

To answer your questions
hese races that are held for the young driver (Presumably series that are similar to GP2, and GP3 etc), are they just random, and based on the young driver's attributes, or are they races that we have to apply strategy to?

I would have them based off their attributes and you would use your Training Team Leader to devise their strategy based upon any attributes he has. This would be like a short off-screen GP2 series. That would take place at 15mins before race time and finish in the same time length. The cars will be exactly the same in the sence of performance levels.

Additionally, will these races be held against other young drivers, that might be 'signed' to other teams?

Absolutely.

On a side note, this can be taken alongside the current idea, what if subscribers (instead of the limited spaces idea, although again, I don't mind if it's not ) can go back a little further. Say they can take drivers on as early as 14-15, in order to watch them grow further and jump from series to series (Formula Ford, GP3, GP2 etc). Obviously the series won't be identical to those that run in reality.

giving an additional 1-2 seasons would result in a large and unneeded amount of EXP in the long term. Also that it would result in really setting apart the teams. As for reducing the flow of experience, those who have drivers from 16-17, will still have a significant loss from those who have 14-15 drivers.

One more question lol - Does the amount we fund the driver then have an effect on how well they do in the feeder series? (Connected with their talent and skills of course)

The fund would actually effect their training. Not their race performance, a seperate fund could be added to deal with that, or a split with the 100-500 to a 40-100k for race costs and 160k to 400k for training costs.

Again some well thought out ideas from David.
I too would like to see the game develop like this - in the future.
