Odd tyre replacement

Hi

So, another issue occurred this evening. 
Track was wet as I did my setup around 20-30 min before race start. I saved an all intermediate strategy and awaited the race. 
As it locked in and the results from quali became available both my cars had qualified on mediums?! Off cause this meant starting on mediums too, even though the track was somewhat wet. 
Only one car had managed to actually qualify on inters which meant a huge gap was created within the first five laps or so as the track slowly dried. 
Can’t help but think my cars should’ve been able to gain from the strategy I’d chosen with the inters. 

How come did my cars start on mediums and not inters as I planned (and saved a strategy for)?
Can I do anything to prevent this from happening again?

Did you explicitly set your first stint tyre to be inters?

There is no real way to make this not happen. The game has a mechanic making your wets/inters medium if the track is dry in it's opinion, and sometimes it makes the wrong call. The best chanche you got of this not happening, is by saving it five minutes before the race, going out of the app, going back in, saving again. And then not closing the app, using this it doesn't happen that often.
