When I click to buy or even bid it does not seem to register anything despite waiting for some time. The tokens, the money stays the same too but I cannot buy the staff. And the timer does not load, no matter how much I wait.
This happened few days back too but I thought the staff would have been already bought. 
Please help, need to buy staff.
I tried on my wifi, other wifi network and my mobile data network.

Try a different internet connection. Sometime firewall settings interfere with transfer market.

Try clearing the cache, try logging out and logging back in, have you got latest app version?

Yes, I can testify that sometimes firewall settings interfere with transfers.

Like I said I tried everything, and yes I have the latest version.

If it is a firewall problem you have two options to test out.

1. Disable the Routers firewall. (Not Recommended) 
2. In the Router: Port-forward the web-socket connected your account to the mobiles IP address. You can find the web-socket port number in Network section of the developers mode using a web browser. (Safest Option)

It started working somehow now, did nothing honestly. 
Still Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for getting it to the devs.
