I would really like if the racetracks would have 2 lines. Like slot car racing. You need an open line to pass someone. (Like a 2-lane road with 2 trucks going the same speed, a car behind them can't pass by magically teleporting through them.) That way it is more realistic on the overtaking a vehicle. Each line could even have a slight timing difference.

The ideal race line would be using a combination of the 2 lines throughout the lap. A faster car could pass on the "slow" line but would be at a slight disadvantage. The faster car should eventually make the pass on the other line, instead of the current version of "ghosting" through the car in front of him.

This is my biggest hope for this game, instead of everyone driving the same line and going through each other like phantom cars. This would be the simplest way to add accidents/crashs as well.

If 2 cars use the same line at the same time. Boom! Accident/crash just occurred. (Got more ideas on this subject, will add in separate post.)

First off, I do like the Idea, however, i wouldn't expect anything soon, an update of that sort of scale, even just to add the '2 lanes' without the crashing/ accidents would take HUGE amounts of coding, not to mention the load on the servers it would take and by what we've seen and read (if you've kept up with the forums) they are, even now, trying to cut down the load on the servers so the game can run more smoothly.

Again yes it is a nice idea, but this would be WAAAYYYY into the future dude.

I also think it's a good idea but on my phone I can't zoom in so would struggle to see the difference between now and what it would look like if we did have 2 lanes.
Have you used the Windows version on a PC or Laptop. Zoom in and see what you think.

Away you go and play scalextric instead!

The race viewer is just a visual representation of what is happening on track. of course its going to look like a car is just passing through the other when overtaking.
