Good evening.
Tonight we raced at 10pm (Paris time). Several managers (including myself) experienced massive strategy issues. I prepared mine arouned 8:30 / 9pm. The track was wet but no rain. I prepared a strategy using Intermediary tires and two pit stops.
I noticed at 9:53pm that during the qualifications, my cars were using medium tires. Straight away, another manager wrote in the forum (of our league) that his stratgegy had not been respected and his cars were starting the race in medium (as mine).
Before the start, I modified my strategy to stop at the end of the first lap and mve to Intermediary tires. My two cars stopped and Medium refitted (again!). I had to do another stop (2nd in 2 laps) to fit Intermediary tires.
Losing the track of my fuel consumption, I had to stop a car 9 laps before the end and my second car 5 laps before the end. I had planned Intermediary tires. Again, the cars were fitted in Medium. I had to finish the race with it. The tires did not warmed up.

Two questions: Was it still not raining and just wet during qualifying and race start? Did you choose, or left, mediums as the choice for the advanced settings of 'If it stops raining for: X laps' and which tyre was in 'If it's raining and water reaches:'?

Also I had to find out some time ago:

The advanced settings have a nasty habit. Once the pit stop triggers it tends to change the pit stop settings to the tyre it thinks it's supposed to put on (which mostly differs quite a bit from what the manager intents), but you don't see it unless you refresh the pit stop tab by changing tabs (or change fuel I think). So to make sure you get your tyre you better switch to another tyre and then back to the preferred one after the pit signal starts to flash (and hope your connection/server has no hiccup delaying the transfer of that change to the server).

The rain had stopped when we ran the qualifications but the track was wet (1.3mm of water). The weather and track conditions were still the same during the start of the race.
I have to confess that I did not look at the advanced settings "'If it stops raining for: X laps" and "If it's raining and water reaches: ...mm". For me the rain gad stopped so it should not have influenced my strategy. I thought it would be only if it was still raining.
I can see now that you have a valid point. So what should have I done to start in intermediary tires since the rain had stopped since an unknown number of laps?
One thing to note is that most of the time, I was the one triggering the pit stop to make sure that my cars were fitted with intermediary tires. I was not waiting for the programmed pit stop.

Choose intermediate tyres under the “if stops raining” advanced strategy, and set your first stint tyres to intermediates.

Yes, what Jason said. To make absolutely sure you should also set Inters for the 'starts raining' one, or Wets with some higher mm value if you want to use that option in case it starts raining again. Though if you're attending the race I strongly suggest to 'disable' those options for the ongoing race with setting them to 5mm and 50 laps (still choose the rain tyres, though, for the start).
