This bug was presented some while ago and it had been fixed, but yesterday it happened to me again. In the settings I set to use Wets when it's 4mm and above while Inters were supposed to be put on when it's 5 laps not raining. In the race it was 3.0mm on the start, and I was already wearing Wets! Luckily for me rain continued and the water level went up and other guys were inactive, otherwise I have had problems.

The settings for water depth in mm and number of laps are only effective during the race. If it is raining at the start of the race you will qualify and arrive on the grid on the advanced strategy "rain" tyres irrespective of water depth. To the best of my knowledge it has always been this way. See here... https://igpmanager.com/forum-thread/17848

I would also prefer to have wets on at 3mm than dry tyre! 4mm put on wets seems quiet high.

Jamie. The depth of water has no effect until the race starts so you can set any value you want and if it's raining that's the tyres you will get.
If you're attending then the best values are 5mm and 50 laps because this effectively disables advanced strategy during the race leaving you to make your own decisions when to pit and what tyres to fit.

I've just read your guide and I feel quite embarrassed. Because I still remember how it used to work in the past before all these weather problems started and it was freezed etc. Back in those days when I started playing I really got tires I had selected in the advanced settings without all of these manipulations with 5mm and 50. I set 3mm of water to wear Wets and if it was 2.9mm while actually raining on the race start I got Inters. You can tell me it has never been this way but I'm absolutely sure it has been because I clearly remember not having this kind of a problem back then but now it's simply impossible according to your guide. I don't know what to say! Like the algorithm has been changed or what?

Hi Mr Freeman.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I only put the guide on the forum to share my experience and hopefully help other managers with an advanced strategy that isn't as intuitive as it could be. It's not an official guide because only the Devs know how they've coded the game.

Your guide is really helpful and I got what its all about now, so thank you for that! I'm also okay with adapting to new rules and mechanism of how the advanced settings work now. But I don't understand why the old one has been removed making it almost useless. So it was more of a question to the devs, not you.

Yes, it's a bit weird. There are some manager saying it worked in the past and I have no reason not to believe them. Then it's manger like Kevin and myself for whom the water height (and laps) setting never did anything at the start and, for me at least, never worked properly (aka triggered anytime but the set values) in the race, either. Maybe it's the league or which server it used to run its races on, but know after the server move or one of the weather patches it's equally not working for anyone (probably).
