Whenever I am unable to do a stratagy for whatever reason (I have another life etc.) then I am given the default strategy Why couldn't the person who set it up have had the sense to at least make it work? For example: In Brazil (35 lap race) the amput of fuel needed for the entire race is 104 litres. Thats fine. However, this was simply divided by 3 to make 3 equal stints. However, each stint only contained enough fuel for 11.7 laps and so I have to pit after 11 laps and this leaves me needing to pit with two laps to go.

COULD SOMEONE PLEASE SORT THIS OUT!

Sorry if this sounds like a massive moan but when I go on holiday etc. I need to know that I have a team setup capable of actually letting me come somewhere.

Mmm, tbh I think setting up for multiple races in advance is a little hard to implement. How would you guess what parts to refit and so on?

@Jack: round up and add a safety margin of 1 to 1.5L after you have divided by 3 (in your example) and you should be fine

Also, from the Beginners guide:
[list]
[*]A driver will automatically choose to pit when he or she doesn’t have enough fuel to go for another lap. Take this into account when calculating your fuel loads for each stint.  Beware, inexperience might also cause drivers to make mistakes in these calculations

That isn't what he's talking about though, he means that the fuel AI should be better when the default setup is being used if/when people can't be around to make any adjustments to it. I agree tbh. As it is now you just know that if you go away and can't adjust your setup, you're completely screwed because the defualt setup/fuel levels are just awful. It would be MUCH better if they automatically set themselves to the previous season's setup for that track. The OP was more of a suggestion than a question i think.

i always run into fuel issues regardless if im away or in game, the predicted fuel amounts are highly inaccurate i always have to add 0.5 to the predicted amount each lap just to make the pit mark. i want to see a 100% accurate fuel reading so i can plan accordingly or so the default setup if away is good enough to pit exactly when it should be on 3 stints.

Figure out how much fuel you use per lap when backing off, times is by the stint you wish to do, consider whether the track has high tyre wear. If its high (extremely high) add one, if its normal, add two. Simple.

Jason, you should be able to work it out yourself any way. The results are there for you to look at after every race - It shows you how much your tyres wore down and how many litres you used per laps. So once you've done one season, you're sussed from then on in. From there it's not hard to work out the correct amount for each stint.

I got lucky with my tech director not being complete trash my first season. I don't even look at his numbers anymore because I have it all logged from the previous seasons.

Seperate question: Is there any negative impact on me if I don't even hire a technical director. Right now I have a level 1 just to save money. Can I just dump him?

I'm like 75% sure you don't "need" one, but someone can feel free to correct me.

I don't think you can set up your race without all the staff.
You will not be able to gain any acheivements either without him - but I may be wrong too.

I had no staff at all not long ago. You can race without any staff. I think it's bad for your drivers Atrophy to have no doctor though, and design (I think) is slower, or you get less % gain from parts released.
