How about turning off DRS between cars in same teams, so to avoid constant overtaking of teammates lap after lap, increasing theoretical times between cars to reduce DRS trains and increase the need for boost to get DRS and turning off DRS on lapped vehicles.

Shoot me down

this would punish everyone who has drivers of a similar level running on the same/similar strategy where others arent on the same strategy with which to DRS train with.

I play in a 1 car league, people boost just so i dont get DRS, this suggestion would be worse than that, because one of my drivers will make my other driver slower because of the turbulent air, so basically having 2 drivers running together would then be a massive disadvantage like following other drivers in the rain is.

as for lapped cars, i see the logic on why to turn it off, but also i can see it as being a disadvantage when a lapped car is just fast enough to keep you behind and you have no DRS to pass them, when really they should be letting you past as they arent racing you. perhaps, IF DRS was turned off on lapped cars, then perhaps cars being lapped would need to "slow down" to let leaders pass? I personally think its better to leave the DRS on when within a second,l but i hope my thoughts helped.

No! Team drs is a great way to strategize, and team drs is also f1 reality.

Do u want another shot?

An interesting pov Matt.

Not that this game is fully realistic, but racing without drs would be like drifting without the use of an e brake stick. or something along those lines.  It takes a lot of trial and error to figure things out here, but like any game that's part of the thrill.

I say DRS is ok as is....

I'd like to hear more about your thoughts on increasing the need for boost to get DRS though.

Just had a thought, I've also taken my meds so it could be completely crazy but here goes.
How about we scrap DRS and replace it with an extra section in the development area called "slipstreaming" the more points you add to it the better your car will be at following another car through corners and slipstreaming down a straight.

Great idea. Except for the scrapping of drs. Drs is a great way to strategise and 'get away' from opponents.
But slipstreaming i totally agree.
All driving in a straight line at the same speed behind eachother at close range should give all following cars a slight benefit over the lead car.
In racing, or reallife. I still use it from time to time.
If low on fuel, i tailgate a truck, and hope the cops dont see me

I think a few points I was trying to make were that realistically it would be difficult to have a train of cars all within 1sec so to all get DRS, maybe if the game made it harder to get within 1sec by increasing maybe the effects of being directly behind another car then ppl would have to use boost more wisely.

Speaking from my experiences largely if you ain’t in the train your race is over, whereas realistically faster car would be catching the car ahead.

Also in my league you get punished if you set differing strategies for both driver as you lack that team drs boost. Very rarely both drivers in the real world would be on the same strategy

Drs for teammates is good.
But for lapped cars it should be turnd off. ☻ lapped cars still it is easy to overtake. So no point to do something (slow down or move from the way) for lapped cars.

Lapped cars give drs irl too dont they?

I like the slipstraming idea, but DRS should stay as well, maybe if slipstreaming is made, DRS bonus should be reduced a tiny bit? otherwise getting DRS will mean you pull massivly away as slipstreaming will cause you to be right behind the car in front before you even get DRS.

Also remember, such a bonus, would be all lap round, even in corners, DRS is only 1 section of straight... so slipstreaming bonus would have to be small as well.

Slipstreaming itself would/could/should decrease this "bonus" as u can gain a bit of slipstreaming from the car that just overtook u in the drs zone.

As for stopping drs on lapped cars take a look at F1 in Brazil with max that shows lapped cars can attempt to unlap themselves and use drs so stop moaning at least your not crashing out of race if backmarker uses drs

People tend to moan about this kind of things when it doesn't go their way but helps opposition's but they won't moan or complain if it helped them and disadvantaged their opponents. DRS is there lapped car or not if you are within 1 second then you get DRS simple now how you use it to your advantage is for you to manage after all this a management game.
