Costs of upgrading and downgrading number of staff

Hi guys.

I wonder how it works with costs for adding or removing staff (for example designers)? I did changes and it cost me quite a lot. Would be VERY good to see "this change will cost you x.xxx.xxx money, are you sure you want to do this?"

I am not so happy that it seems to costs me more to downsize than it would cost me to keep the staff.

I was also surprised by the cost of downsizing my staff.  I looked at the cost as though I offered severance packages to those released.  I saw the dollar figures next to the position reductions "Downgrade to xx $xx.xxx", but I thought that was a savings, not expenditure.

I wish I had nderstood this (that Rob also says) before. now I lost LOTS of money and I am have no engineers or mechs. Which will cost me even more to reinstall. So basically. My bank account looks really weird. For example I dropped engies and mechs to save money and hired designers (cost money of course) then found I didnt need as many designers so I took away some not many minutes afterwards. That also cost me money I found afterwards. So I am down on money and staff now. The are some things that could be a LOT clearer in the guides and gui.  Right now I am quite unhappy with it all.Also, are people able to downsize if they are running low (close to zero money)? In a real situation, downsizing staff is a natural thing. Here you just pay more rather than save on it. Please explain why things are like this.

I would also like to see this changed. Reducing staff should not cost money, makes it difficult to move staff around because of the double hit. I have a 4 day break in my league and it would be nice to be able to pump out some designs during the break.

Well in real life you can't just lay-off engineers and mechanics for a few days and hire more designers for that duration and then do the opposite without it costing you money. Also probably that's against some laws too :P

But I think it needs to be clearer that you're losing money. Though I was never confused about as it kinda makes sense :P

It sort of does, but the way it's done is unclear. There's a dollar value attached to every change. Something like this would be an improvement:

Support staff

To hire or fire support staff use the select boxes on the staff overview page. Select an 'Upgrade' choice if you wish to increase the count of support staff, and 'Downgrade' to decrease the support staff. There is a fee associated with hiring or firing support staff and this should be taken in to consideration when doing so.
