hi after some advice 
i noticed in yesterdays race (5 degrees) that my tyre wear started at 7% wear but as the stint went on this was reduced to 3% 
can anyone tell me why this was and how can i calculate this into my strategy 
any advice would be welcome

Tyre wear isn't linear. The wear percentage each lap is a constant but it isn't 7% of a new tyre it's 7% of the remaining life of the tyre. You can get a good approximation by using the percentage figure obtained during practice inserting into the following calculation. 

Remaining life at end of lap = Life at start of lap - (Life at start of lap x Tyre wear/100)

If you insert this calculation in a spreadsheet you will find that a tyre experiencing 7% wear per lap (your example) will look like the table below. It's not absolutely accurate because iGP doesn't give you a decimal figure for tyre wear. If 6.001% to 7% are all displayed as 7% this can make quite a difference.

If the temperature remained constant, it could have been because the fuel you had in your car was decreasing so the tyre wear per lap decreased. This is what I think would have caused it, but I am not sure how you would plan for this in your strategy.
