Scoring and positions

Hello
I would explain that I'm in a league with 15 teams, so 30 cars, and it's so difficult to score and be in the 10 first cars at the end of a race, and I feel that the team classification is not done properly. Would it be possible to have a different scoring instead of the one which give points only at the 10 first cars. I would propose a different system for the points, example of the Carrera Cup France Championship where 15 cars can score, with points from the 1rst to the 15th as : 20 18 16 14 12 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
This system permits the rookies between position 10 and 20 to fight and have points, and the people between position 20 and 30 are not playing in general. Thank you to thing to my proposal.

Every car that finishes should get points for finishing so I like this idea!! Its not hard to scale either. Great idea mate!!! There are so many different points systems around that could be used.

Positions are taken in to account on zero scorers based on overal position. But would be good to see them in a table. So you know what you need to do. 

Why give points to losers the 1st ten finishers in F1 get points the rest don't complain about not getting any why should we not follow the f1 scoring system this game needs to be more realistic than a fantasy game far away from reality

In the real races, where you have pro drivers and gentlemen drivers, your scoring system is made to motivate people and make them enthousistic to perform. In my league there are "old" players, really strongs, keeping everytime the top ten, and back your are figthing everytime from position 11 to 25 to win nothing .... So to motivate people and make the competition nice, like in real life we could give some small point to the back positions, that's why I proposed to score from head to position 15th for example (and not position until 30th), so that it's a bit more motivating and fun instead of passing 3 or 5 or 5 season in Elite waiting that the top player stop the game to win some points ; good remark from other player when someone speak about moto GP scoring system 25, 20, 15, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 which change noting for the top players with a nice difference of points, but which congratulate back line players and make the competition better from my perspective with old drivers and rookie players.

Jean, we get it... it's an idea that has been passing around for some time.... And yes....It makes sense. I also agree with  Graeme Osborn; every racer should get pts for finishing the race.

Changing the points system won't change a team's performance. That's down to the manager, which is what this game is all about. Starting at the bottom and climbing the league by improving your team as a whole.Finishing last and getting 1 point won't improve anything but the managers ego. Another problem would be if a team leaves the league, which would reduce the number of cars. Would the last car be awarded 1 point, or the points for finishing 2 places higher in a 2 car team. The points system now works for F1. Dont fix what aint broke. 
 

In F1 the point system has mainly one purpose: working out who is the champ.

Who is last, second last etc. doesn't really matter. (In team competition it does, cause F1 based money earnings on it. But thats a different story.)

In iGP there is not only a fight for the champ, but for relegation, too! So we need a scoring system, that fits both. For the relegation zone, the F1 point system does a poor job! For example, you can finish last in almost all races as long as score a few points in one contest to avoid relegation. I think thats odd.
The most logical system would give points to every driver (Maybe not the last one, or maybe you have to finish to get points. But I think, you get my point.)

I believe the current points system is okay apart from the win offering way too many points compared to second. A difference of 7 is too much and it would be better if it was decreased to a difference of 4 or 5. This would lead to the drivers and more importantly constructors championships being much closer than before.

Alternatively I have a sligthly more complicated suggestion that would reward the fastest people even more but also reward really good performances: a points system based on how many seconds you are away from 1st. I think in many ways this would encourage people to be more active thoughtful during gp (because every second counts) and rewards pushing harder even when in first. One massive issue is what to do when someone retires/someone is lapped, so a specific set of rules would have to be applied for each scenario. No longer will there be bottom of the pack teams struggling to find a way to get points, with this regulation, there are no excuses!

Plain and simple there's a lot of room for a reward system based on performance just waiting to be rightfully exploited. 

PERFORMANCES CATEGORIEES:

Top qulifiers.
fastest lap time.
Most positions gained during a race. 
Most cars passed.
most lead laps.
Coolest weekly livery.(poll based)

Rewards can come as cash, coins, extra dp's, parts, engines,  or even free liveries.

As someone with 0 points so far this season (5 races in) but plenty of 12th places, I'd love any points system that add more places ?

No.  Points system is fine and other areas need focusing o 

Ok, thanks for your intuitive observation there Adam.
But ok, the current pt system works. Hopefully not because it doesn't affect you but because you can articulate how it's perfect for "everyone" involved. 

Personally it's taken me over 8 seasons to go through rookie and be a top 5 racer in pro.
What does that mean? It means that just like in real life it takes good all fashion time and effort to see your progress.
The more players in the game, the more competitive it becomes thus creating a longer waiting period to notice your own achievements in the game.  I hope that goes without saying. 

Jean-Louis Brouillet the day will come where we all can track our performance from a pt based system. We just have to be bringing it up.... 

Ill just add this to what i said before. As a league host sometimes its about retention for your league. I know some will say well we are in leagues that have been around for years and dont have problems but every league would have had this problem at some stage. We have guys who score no points or are just outside the points all the time. Wouldnt it be nice to see tem for once have a smile on there face when they get a point or two? Yes it doesnt affect performance ect but it affects the person involved. We do have to remember its a game and its not life or death. 
An example of how in my old league there were 3 of us that were at the top and always us 3. The pack then followed. You could tell it was getting the guys down by the messages they wrote. We always helped them to try and get better and better and yes they were but in there eyes we were miles away in front. So us top 3 decided to throw the last race of the season. Now how do you do that you ask? Well we ran wet tyres for part of the race if not all of it and let the guys who had never won a race let alone been on the podium in Elites have a crack at it. None of them knew we were doing this and the conversation in the race that night was amazing!! To see how much it meant to these other to push then for the win was great. The winners of the race eg top 3 had never been there in Elites before. It made them hungry for the next season. So when it comes to retention points for the lesser teams/drivers do matter.

The Hall of Fame doesn't only keep track of the top 10 performers on its list, why should the leagues?

This is a problem with the whole of society.  Giving medals for coming last.  Rewarding taking part.  All a load of rubbish.  Reward those winning. Before you try the....you would say that as you are level 19 nearly 20.

Maybe I misunderstood  Jean-Louis Brouillet's original topic. 

To have a systematical way to track your progress on the standings with a numerical value assigned to your position. 
It makes sense to me. 
If I was at the bottom of the standings I would want to know how my "0" ranks against the rest of the "0" . 

I get it it's not a must have or need.... Thus is being suggested here under a "SUGGESTION"  thread.
