Once again I've been screwed by the game doing what it wants and removing my fuel addition adjustment.
Bye bye podium, this was going to be my first 3rd place.

Bin this system and come up with something that never fails please.

Ok - I know you must be annoyed but can you be a bit more specific about your race?
A link to the information would be useful for the devs to investigate, and some indication as to what your adjustments were and how you applied them.

Binning a system because it didn't work for you, with no details, is hardly an option. :)

And if it is any help I think the whole fuel/tyre/pitting strategy thingy is to be updated anyway

Ok. So they will come up with a system tailor made for you so you never fail.

Ok so this is the race? How much fuel did you put in?

I think he is meaning that he's altered the fuel and instead it's put in the original amount that was pre-planned before the race.

Common bug, though it's usually because people don't know how to operate it properly (not saying this is the case here.) Most of the users who complain about this problem alter the fuel amounts but don't manually pit the drivers themselves, instead they just wait for the pit light to come on which unfortunately won't work.

Ok if wanted to change the fuel mid race I change the fuel in the next stint box? Problem resolved?

My last lap of stint 2 started (I had roughly 5lt of fuel, thus not enough to go around for one more after),  I adjusted the fuel for stint 3, upping it by 4 litres (it also showed the new value in the lower box), then clicked pit (it was not green, it was grey and not in use at the time). Weather strategy was already unticked from earlier in the race to prevent more problems. I don't remember if I ticked unscheduled stop but it shouldn't matter anyway for this low fuel/last lap scenario.

I know that when the driver detects having not enough fuel for another lap, the pit button activates itself, but as I said before it was not activated, and I chose to adjust fuel and activate it myself early in the lap and get it all sorted before it auto activates mid-lap and causes a mess.

I don't want to have to adjust, tick/untick & or retick everything 10 times in order to get around the bugs/crosseyed system.

No unfortunately not problem solved. You have to change the amount, then wait for the green PIT light to come on, unselect it and then manually press it yourself. If you just change the quantity and let the driver pit by himself/herself, it will fit the original amount of fuel you had set, not the one you changed it to. It's a silly system but this is how it is.

The fuel system has already been changed and improved in the development version of the game.  We're just working on solidifying the new update before releasing it.  I'll verify that this specific issue is covered by the updates (I'm 99% sure it is).  I'm sorry that it's still awkward to use right now.

Can't wait for the update :) Will be interesting to see everyone scramble to change their excel sheets to cope with the new version. I'm going to love the chaos ;)

Every person as far as I am aware of in the top 20 are using Excel sheets for their strategy. Sets apart the top 100 from the top 20? :P

I'm in the top 20 and I don't. I literally just remember everything off the top of my head lol.

Use your head and previous race results if youve done a season. Simple fix.

Partly true, other times, you may not just done enough. Right now in my league, everyone is changing strategy to compenstate for Driver, supplier changes and so on. I just ended a long winning streak in my league, and that caused him to rethink his strategy.

Well, having an excel sheet makes calculating the fuel loads for different strategies a trivial thing.... And you can do loads of other nifty things with the data iGP provides you... nifty things which do give you an advantage in a race :=)

I always make sure to finish with less than a liter left in my tank, without precise calculations and predictions this isn't possible. My models incorporate fuel & tyre wear predictions based off of previous laps, so if my data is wrong or I'm pushing harder/less than expected my pit stop details update automatically without me having to do anything else than input some data.
