I currently have a monthly 2d subscription and wa interested in doing the yearly one instead as its cheaper, how will this effect the monthly one? Will theystill continue to take cash out of my bank or do I have to cancel the monthly one first?

Thanks for your help in advance :-)

Ah, I thought the monthly one was a continual direct debit?

Yeah, this will just lead to less conversions from free to premium - but probably more money for iGP. Another barrier for the newbies. Hopefully in the patch free players can see tyre temperatures in order to race correctly and enjoy the game, otherwise the long term health of the game will probably suffer with less conversions to the paying model.

I really don't get the business logic behind it besides if the analysis showed that people were buying a subscription for 1, 3 or 6 months and then moving away from the game or not choosing to renew the premium subscription. By lowering the rate and locking in for a year, people are more likely to stick around if they have made the purchase (at least in theory). This means the game will earn more from subscribers than the ad hoc options provided. Good business sense if it works, but I think it will just lead to considerably less subscriptions. Nearly every subscription model has tiers based on cost and length - for a good reason - to maximise conversions from the free product.

Yeah, what Kade said. If the problem is people not renewing after 1, 3 or 6 months then the solution is probably to make the game better, not force people to pay more up front. Especially as the difference in controls between subs and free is LUDICROUSLY overpowered, you literally cannot win as a free player against a 2D player with an equal team.

My solution? Give the same controlset to the timing screen view as the 2D view. Allow subscribers to run multiple teams. Continue to add customisation options like the livery editor and the upcoming driver name changes for subscribers. Instead of making the game play differently for free vs subs, let subs allow you to play *more of the same game*.

This will ultimately benefit iGP, as it creates more committed players throughout the system, and once committed these players will be more inclined to spend money on the game. That's how the F2P model works, by multiplying the game experience rather than turning half a game into a full one. You will have happy, committed players, and the more players the better the game for everybody.

I must admit at first I was all against the "let free users see tyre temps" argument, but now I'm 100% for it. I'd still sub to watch the race in 2D, but I do think the free users deserve a fair chance to race properly. There's also a few ideas that could make 2D worth buying, like above re: allowing 2 teams on the one account instead of having to make two accounts, and/or allowing one team to have 4 drivers that you can alternate between races etc.

At the moment free users are losing interest quickly, and fair enough that people don't care - They aren't paying for the game so they aren't contributing you could say, but at the same time this is becoming increasingly frustrating for paying users with either leagues dying out just having such an advantage that it's too easy to win.

Hmm, to be fair, you can still win, but you have to be a very experienced 2D user with many, many seasons under your belt to know exactly how to push for each track at certain temperatures and alternate ways to pass people on the track (eg your stint lengths vs your opponents stint length) if you can't take advantage of your kers as free users can't.

So yes, it's possible for an elite few, but for 95% of the population no, you are 100% right and it is a little silly. It's basically pay to win in 99% of the situations at the moment.

Something as simple as a freakin lap counter in the free viewer would be nice.

It tells you what lap you are on in the free viewer?

But it does tell you what lap you're on, as well as how many laps there are...?

Moving to a yearly model is disappointing. I've lost interest in the game and the only reason I'm still around is that I'm managing a league. My subscription has expired and apparently I need to have a subscription to close the league. I can transfer the 'ownership' of the league but that's not going to happen since the league is incredibly stagnant with only one tier having any real kind of racing (and even then, it's quite poor), and no manager wants to take on the ownership. I have to say, I'm not going to spend AU$45 just to close a league...
