Think about.  Is 7% Tyre wear 6.51% or 7.49%

If your on the limit with a strategy, the calculations can be off 2/3 laps,  which can have a big bearing on the strategy chosen.

I think one decimal place should be sufficient

I think if you attend the race the only tyre set you have doubt about is the 1st set as during race you get given tyre wear to 1 decimal place but i took if it shows 7% it between 7% to 7.99%  and not nearest whole number if your soft is 7% you can tell if it nearer 7.5% because at 7.5% your SS are 15% not 14% the information you want is out there but you have to work out how to find it all part of the game

This assumes you use the same compound every stint. It is a common strategy to use softer tyres for the first stint to help qualifying. So it's not just the first set you have doubt about.
History from previous seasons is useful because in my experience, assuming tyre economy is similar the wear rates don't change much from season to season.
I'd still like to see decimals for practice laps.

Sometimes I find my Tyre Wear rate during practice change by 1 percent up or down from season to season.  It might be that hidden decimal figure.
