After the rejection of resetting lap records I wonder if its worth having 3 lap records.

Rookie
Pro
Elite

That way there is a possibility for getting the lap record achievement for starters but also as a rookie you have ZERO chance of beating the record. You normally in other sports have different records for classes.

What prevents high level managers from going down to lower tiers and smashing Rookie and Pro lap records?

Nothing prevents them going down, but teams exceeding the level soft cap for a tier would have to make do with their weight penalty.

This, exactly.

The fact that any player can go down to rookie is simply wrong and nothing but a fantasy-like game play. Surely we all know what the definition of a "Rookie" is, right?

Personally I feel anyone with more than 2 seasons(maybe 3 in this game) shouldn't be able to ever go back to rookie tier. Otherwise you're right Jason Chen, all the Schumachers out there would've had a hoot staying down as rookies.
