So is there an inverse relationship between driver talent and trainability? I had a talent 8 driver who responded beautifully to training, leveling up quite nicely; however, my new drivers who have talent 16 get miniscule returns on training sessions. Is there a hidden variable that controls this or is it tied to the driver stats?

Thanks.

They should be getting a total of +3 each time no matter what. Unless you do physical.

I don't think I've gotten more than +1 on any particular stat in training in the past couple of weeks. I trained one driver today in defending and got +1 Focus and nothing else. If there's a legit reason for it, I'd like to hear it so I can understand why. Just seems like I'm getting short shrift, and when we only race 3x/week it seems like a long time to wait for very little return.

I think atrophy has something to do with it - the age of the driver.
I also think it is explained somewhere in the rules or game play help - but maybe not.

Sure he's not already maxed out in what you trained him in?

Extremely sure. These are new drivers I hired, 18 and 19 years old respectively (which should rule out the atrophy factor) and I'm training in elements which are at level 2 and 3 and thereabouts.

I did a search in the guides to see if there was a design philosophy surrounding driver training but there doesn't seem to be any language about it.

Seems to be part of hitting the level cap in the rookie tier?

Except I'm in the Elite tier and am the lowest-level manager (level 8) in there except for one other.

I'm still waiting to see if the devs will tell me that there is a hidden variable that some drivers may respond better to training than others, or that there is some other game logic that is the cause.

I'll say this, though - I finally understand why guys were league-hopping the way they were. When it takes two weeks to get one stat out of the red, it certainly makes you desperate to speed the process up.
