Anyone can explain why in Spain on the 2nd lap, the drivers behind can get DRS? And others in front cannot! This is because kerbs  be active?

Hello,

This is how the DRS works, it activates on lap 2 and benefits cars that are less than 1 second behind each other.

What Nvi meant was that DRS is supposed to be enabled on lap 3. At Spain, a few select cars get DRS at the end of lap 2 instead. This is indeed a bug. I've witnessed it many times, and so have many others.

I think this bug is caused by the finish line and DRS activation zone being at the exact same spot, thus causing the system to be inconsistent at deciding whether it's lap 2 or lap 3 when a driver crosses the DRS line.

We're aware that Spain allows some cars to use DRS on lap 2. It is just a matter of the developers getting the chance to address it as soon as some other projects are completed.

We are still investigating the bug, we have added extra logging on the back end so we can gather data about this happening.

It looks like because the DRS start is right after the start line it does appear spotty as to who gets DRS.

DRS is enabled as soon as the lead car completes Lap 2. The way our DRS system works is slightly different to the real world, mainly for copyright reasons.

The DRS gap is decided as soon as you go into the DRS usage area rather than a detection zone a just bit before the DRS like normal F1.

My idea would be starting the drs zone right before the finish line.
