Both McLaren and Mercedes have announced their driver line-ups for 2013.

McLaren will have Button and Perez
Mercedes will have Hamilton and Rosberg.

Perez: good move, can not believe Ferrari turned him down. but it's more along the lines of Alonso wanting to deliberaly have a weaker second driver who can not challenge him so the idea of Alonso being the best driver on the grid is meaningless unless up against an equally as strong teammate in the same car, this and fighting drivers in other cars that are equal.
If Mclaren get their car right i can see quite a few wins come towards Mexico, he has talent and personal sponsorship as well which is a bonus for Mclaren. Button will have his hands fulll as both of them are fast and both are tyre conservation specialists and can put the pace down when required. excellent traits and a great line up.

Hamilton: a good move all things taken into account, 2013 may not give him all the wins he wants if any, but he can form his own sponsorship train as he can see fit, bark orders at the team for a better car and with Ross Brawn around, that has to be a good thing. in 2014 is where it gets interesting, new engines and because Mercedes is a manufacturer in their own right, they can design their car around the engine well before Mclaren get the specs for the engine and then get the rest of it right, he could be sitting on a gold mine. But this also means Rosberg won't be taking no for an answer. Last season Button beat Hamilton and the only teammate to do it in his racing career, potentially an explosive mix between friends at Mercedes.

You dont know why Ferrari turned down Perez, or if Perez already had a contract for McLaren, Also how do you know that the rumors of Kubica coming back are not for Ferrari???

The Perez move surprises me. Is he really the best available? Surely McLaren don't need his sponsors money? What has he done to earn this drive? He was an unimpressive 12th in GP2 & in an unusual season where the tryes are the deciding factor he has scored some podiums. They have seen something I have not.

How about Valsecchi from GP2? Ok, he has won the title without winning a race, but he has shown consistency.

Or what about Bacheta from Formula 2? He won the opening 4 races of the season & with 1 race to go (tomorrow) looks like being the champ.

Have to think his performance at Monza might have weighed in a bit.
