Just trying to do my setups for my race and the prepartion was locked BEFORE the 30 minute window. It said down the bottom next race in 33 minutes or whatever but the prep was already locked and I couldn't do anything. Any ideas?

I think the clock in the botom corner uses your local PC clock, perhaps the server and your clock are not in sync by a few minutes. Try updating your local PC time and see if that fixes it.

Edit: If lots of people are seeing it though, it could be the other way around, maybe the server is 2mins out.

My setup didn't save and I am now stuck on the shit ass default setup because no matter how many times I would press the save button, my setup wouldn't save. FFS now my race is screwed yet again.

I don't know what is going on Jack. The race started at the right time though so that makes no sense.

Lockout for me was 8.57am NZ .. Race started bang on 9.30am.

This is the crap that drives people away. You NEED to sort this stuff out or your gonna lose people. I'm actually surprised that so many people are F2P in this game and all this crap does is make it less enjoyable and as a F2P game, it's not hard for them to drop. Fix this or I ain't renewing.

Bump.

This is happening again. Lockout is occuring early, races are starting bang on time, so my clock isn't out.

The game saving requires transfering Save Data from the browser to the website's servers. This however cannot be completed where a periodic disconnection can occur, which is usually termed as Packet Loss. No connection on the internet is stable and you cannot blame the developers for this issue. We also call this lagspike and in that moment, a connection is lost but again re-estabilished. This cannot be fixed by either yourself or the server administrators and you should be sure to check your data is saved.

Many people are F2P for this game cause they are not always available to attend the races due to commitments outside of the game, specifically work or family.

Just be sure to check your setups are saved properly, and a simple resave is to increase then decrease a stint's fuel and then click save and should remain greyed out. Then refresh the page to see if your setup remains and it should, if not, you will be prompted to save anyway. Check in your preferences that you have that feature enabled.

Sorry if you decide not to renew your subscription, but at the end of the day bud, threats do not fix things faster.

But on a more fun note: Maybe the Hadron Collider has created a black hole and there is now a time displacement between yourself and the server? :)

lol - thanks for the info David.

I hadn't realised there was that kind of problem.

I guess, because of the way this game works, it hasn't really been noticed in the wider gaming community either.

Well, it's not entirely true. It's dependent on where the issue is occuring. Packets can be increasingly dropped as network traffic increases or by bad hardware as well - that can be beyond the scope of the user and in this case, the hands of the game's developers/administrators. Actions have already been taken to decrease load at certain times so this could be a symptom of a larger non-user issue. Judging by your terminology, you have a good but not quite correct handling on networking thought so I won't beat you up too much. I should note that this could also be, and is most likely, a user issue due to network traffic (bit torrent uploads/downloads, other traffic, etc) or just a shitty router or bad connection. It just shouldn't be assumed.

Basically Jason, you go to save and the website goes 'Nope, I don't want to save right now. Try again after I can be fucked sending a packet through that crowd of bits'

I just noticed the early preparation lock myself. Race countdown timer said 30 m 50 s, and preparation was locked. I subsequently did the "automatically synchronize to an internet time server" and it turned out my system clock had actually been about 12 seconds fast, so prep locked at about T -31 minutes.

Leave the setup to the last 50 seconds is a bit pointless tbh.

Cause then you have to redo your entire setup on the car itself for a wet or dry race.

I wasn't affected; I had actually fullly completed my setup a few minutes before lockout, but i was refreshing the Next Race page because I was watching the weather.
