Hey everyone, i have a suggestion for the tyres. As the tyres have now changed to C1-C5 would it be possible to change the tyres to give the names of C1-C5(C1 being the slowest/hardest, C5 being the fastest/softest)? This would mean a new tyre would have to be added and the colours of the tyres. C1 would behave like hards, C2 would behave like mediums, C3 would behave like softs, C4 would behave like super softs and C5 would act like ultra soft or hyper soft(would need a new tyre being added which might take time). Another suggestion is if there would be 5 compounds, there should be only 3 different tyre choices each weekend instead of 4, taking a step forward into what formula one is like in real life.

I believe adding yet another tyre would not solve the problem even if you can only take 3 tyres to a specific track as you mentioned. Since the tracks have no asphalt characteristic like in real life there is no use to script 5 different tyre models, that would be just unnecesary workload for the devs.

Imo they should throw out either the Hard tyre and work from there. If we were to redesign the tyres with only 3 different compounds at disposal it gets way easier to balance them and give every one of them a reasonable use on any track. For example before the tyre update we used Hard tyres almost exclusively. It got better with the update since now everything from SuperSoft to Medium gets used although it's still mainly Supers and Softs. The Hard tyre has fallen out of favor so it would be best to just scrap it.

Something that could possibly be considered is to add an optional rule that at least two tyre compounds have to be used in a single race to open up strategy diversity. I say optional because I can understand why it couldn't work, e.g.: managers that can't attend a race either getting DQ'd after finishing because they ran on 1 compound all race or put on auto pit on the last lap because they didn't set a strategy. Maybe you could let league hosts choose if they want to use that rule or not.

Just my thoughts on that topic.

Hi James, regarding tyres, certainly read Jack's blog post from last November.
I quote:

I have also been considering changing the tyres in iGP Manager so that we go with Soft, Medium and Hard only, and scale the temperature / wear to each track, much as F1 plans to do next year. This way, we could make it so that there are 3 viable tyre compounds for every track, and they would be different compounds on each track, spicing up the strategy across the season. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments.
