Drag Reduction System is no longer available in Practice or Qualifying on any part of the track, excluding the designated DRS Zone. This is to increase safety measures of issues caused in recently years.

Also The curfew for pitcrews to not allowed to be near the garage has been increased to 8 hours, and the Weight Requirement has been increased to compensate for the heavier 2013 Pirelli Tires.

All good. Stops DRS gear comprimises and limiter bouncing in all of quali

More overtaking, better racing, closer qualifying etc. :)

With the cars getting heavier and heavier, and the 2014 engines not being particularly powerful, are we looking at F1 cars that no longer have more power than they weigh?

Doesn't sound too exciting to be honest...

Dan, the goals for the 2014 season is:

Reduce costs to all teams, and making F1 more economical

Bring back other Engine Suppliers to the sport

Encourage more wheel to wheel racing and overtaking

Improve the reputation of the sport

Improve the safety of the sport

Generate income into the sport, teams and communities  to where the events are held

Many more reasons other than the ones stated.
Wouldnt a 1.6 v6 be lighter than a 2.4l V8? Very much doubt this would be the case F1 teams are always looking for ways to cut weight. And the drivers are as light as possible with expection Mark Webber :D. F1 teams would also not have rules in place to have heavy cars go around wouldnt be commercially right.
