We need more "unforeseen" changes in IGP. The thing with races is that usually, only one team dominates the whole season and it totally removes the fun in making a thrilling season.

We need crashes, parts failure and safety car.

I agree, Michael.  I told my rookie drivers to be bold on hard tires in the rain and they didn't even spin off the track.  The races would be much more interesting if your drivers stood a chance of improving their finishing position because of crashes, parts failures, and safety cars tightening up the field.

I on the other hand disagree. I like that a random element doesn't affect my outcome.

I want to win because I'm doing things right, not because so-and-so had a random failure.

I want realism.  If random failures and spins and wrecks are part of racing, then they should be in this game.

I agree !
In real life a pilot can't drive in "Push hard" mod with no risks to do a mistake and finish his race in the wall !

I think we should be asking the Devs to get things right such as Drivers names and server crashes , instead of asking them to introduce random failures. Imagine the bugs!

The ideas you are discussing will be introduced some time in the future as this was discussed even before the game went live.
It is good that there is discussion about this though as any new ideas are welcome.

As mentioned I too think stabilising the game first is the priority.

I get your concern, and to be fair it is hard to introduce a random failure aspect in a way that doesn't annoy the customers (all of the Papyrus veterans around here will agree with me on this, right?). BUT - having said that - there needs to be at least a LITTLE bit of random chance introduced into the game if people are going to stick around. Right now, the results are drearily predictable - and while that's also somewhat realistic to real-life F1 (to its detriment), having no element of driver error, acts of God, etc. that mark a real-world race removes a little value from the game.

Coming from Michael Schumacher, I see your point.

Is real life based on that ? I mean only that ? Think about it.

Sorry for the tripple post, I am too lazy to edit and manually quote, shame on me. Tony, what do you mean by Papyrus veterans ? You mean the video games ? I played a lot Indycar Racing (1 and 2) and NASCAR Racing (1 and 2) and don't know what you mean,

On the other hand, as I recalled from previous discussions (issue has been raised in the past), Andrew stated the randomness is already implemented concerning driver mistakes, but nowadays it's set to minimum. So, all we need is a petition to raise the variable. Also, cars DO RETIRE from car part wear. Again, we could set the variable higher. Only thing missing are the crashes. So far, from all the games I play, only F1Time has them. And I stay all race biting my nails for my driver to not roll the car.
